There’s a new world order, gents. Unless you tick five of the following you aren’t invited:
‘strong man’ (yet still a little camp)
silly hair
dubiously elected
not elected
like posing for the cameras
wear ludicrously baggy clothing
billionaire (through dubious dealings)
don’t believe in free trade and co-operation between states to the benefit of all

Is that one of them rhetorical questions I've heard about?

It's possible that on the back of Boris saying Trump would make a success of Brexit that Trump is trying to appear such a retard merely to troll Boris, and that wouldn't be wholly unreasonable

I can’t believe Merkel’s office released that photo.....the unedited one!
It’ll play so well with Trump’s base that you’ve done his work for him.

Merkel: Donnie, you need to eat your greens to have your two scoops of ice cream!

DJT: But I don't believe in greens, it's all a conspiracy. Climate change isn't real.

Merkel: Ok, one scoop...and sprinkles, but you need to stop the trade tariffs.

DJT: Deal!

John Bolton: Noooooooooo

DJT: Where's my ice cream?

He has an amazing deal with North Korea however, much better than people expected, he even watched some TV to see what people thought might happen though he doesn't like to watch TV and it's better than even they thought.

If true then it's congrats to Trump, though there's precious little in the way of detail and the deal mayn't survive.

Having to say nice things about Trump Vs dying in a nuclear war..., I think a lot of people might be on the fence about that one. At the very least any praise will be highly qualified that he remains a fat, ignorant, odious piece of shit, and an incredibly stupid piece of shit at that, I would allow he's very orange as far as shit goes.

Didn't really mean get behind "him"... meant hopefully something happens that will unite the majority of people in a positive way.

I've tried to make sense of his statements on the meeting, both official and social, and it is impossible to interpret the utter tripe that comes out of his mouth. I assume he sat there with his arms folded and that cartoon Mussolini scowl on his face while people worked around him. I mean, how credible can anything he ever says possibly be at this point? Good PR for two fat man-baby leaders I suppose.

In terms of the content of what's been agree; and as far as I can tell...

What Kim got out of Trump:
1. Legitimacy
2. A public, on camera, promise to halt war games in the area.

What Trump got out of Kim:
1. The bones of some soldiers who died 65 years ago
2. USA's agreement that Kim and Moon have already agreed to one day, maybe, in the dim and distant future, denuclearise the Korean peninsular - which will take 25 years before we know if it's worked or not - A good thing, don't get me wrong, an essential step. But it's still just Trump's agreement that an agreement has already taken place).

And the repatriation of dead servicemen was happening already.

So Trump got nothing new. Maybe the meeting will help Kim and provide some reassurance that playing nicely brings better rewards. An anti aggression agreement would provide security, particularly if guaranteed by China and the US can ignore a non nuclear N Korea which just starves its own people.

Some good might come out of this (I’m trying it to be churlish as this issue is too important) but an instant victory deal it isn’t yet.

I also forgot that Kim got incontrovertible proof that developing nukes gets you a seat at the table. Gadaffi provided precedent for what happens if you genuinely give up the hunt. I wonder what Iran's take home message will be.

I agree on trying not to be churlish, it IS a step in the right direction, just a very, very small one that doesn't seem to be worth the political capital squandered getting there.
Of course, my biggest fear is how Trump reacts if/when he realises that he's been played. When nothing positive comes of this, does he just restart the war games, or does he reach for that red button? My guess is that Kim will stall LNG enough to keep Trump hoodwinked, knowing that DJT really isnstupid enoughntomsend the nukes, and is desperately hoping there's no second term.

I'm also wondering what the rest of the world's relationship with USA is going to look like post-Trump? He really has set a new precedent in rescinding anything agreed by a predecessor; can anyone now trust that a deal with America will last longer than the POTUS' presidency?

Mind you, I know some who (IMO hyperbolically) aren't convinced that there will be a post-Trump world (or not for decades yet), worried about everything stronger voter suppression and election rigging, the possibility of nuclear war "postponing" elections and the setting up of a Trump dynasty taking up the corrupt reigns as and when.

Trump gives an interview about his meeting. Some words, the best words:

"“His country does love him. His people, you see the fervor,” Trump said. “They have a great fervor.”

I do trust him, yeah. Now, will I come back to you in a year and you’ll be interviewing and I’ll say, gee I made a mistake? That’s always possible. You know, we’re dealing at a very high level, a lot of things can change, a lot of things are possible.
