So, should we believe Ann Coulter's opinion that all the children in the images and videos are child actors and that the President shouldn't fall for it?
I wouldnt but i would not consider her rantings accurate or credible either. That is exactly my point though... open yourself up to understand another facet of the situation, accept that it may have merit and then form your own opinion or delve in a little further. You might surprise yourself. It is really okay to have an opinion that differs from others. That is what opens up healthy dialogue and ideas that lead to mutual understanding. Things tend to get resolved when there is mutual understanding.
I don't in advance take a stand against having strong borders, strong migration control and so on, though I do think a wall is a very expensive stupid idea, and there's far too little discussion around the idea the US (and other countries) need a lot of economic migration given their projected finances. I'm also not that averse to the idea of ditching refugee/asylum status seeing as it currently applies to so many people.
That said what side does one open oneself up to that sees good in forcing families apart and then not knowing if that can be fixed? That's akin to seeing both sides in a group of white supremacists and commenting some of them are actually very fine people, if the world were able to find someone so unfathomably stupid they'd actually say/think that.

That comes across as incredibly patronising Coco...
Strangely enough, my opinions are formed from gathering information from various sources. I can then determine the provenance of the information and work out which are likely to be more accurate, reliable and objective.

I typed so many responses to this but just gave up. I’m leaning towards thinking giving every single person in the world a lobotomy is the way forward.
I would like to know though what the massive list of lefty propoganda falsehoods about this issue include, beyond a bunch of the photos being from 2014? Quite a lot of the reaction from the right seemed to be addressed in that link WhichTyler posted.
If only I could objectively assess my own bias, like all the conservatives can.

I can't believe this is even being debated. Subjecting children to trauma in the hope it acts as a deterrent to future movement of people across a border is not a sound policy. Jesus fucking christ. What is this? Stephen Miller appreciation day?

That's not the real reason, though. The real reason is that by forcing more people into prison and making more people criminals, Jeff Sessions will make more money.
I just find it absolutely insane and appalling that a) a private individual is allowed to own prisons and b) he is then allowed to be attorney General!

It’s been a claim for a while. Apparently no evidence of any financial link in the full disclosure he had to provide on appointment.

I've read that he has invested in funds for a couple of private prison companies, but the returns he sees are minimal and not enough to trigger an investigation, or further action. Then again, if the POTUS can divest his business empire to his own sons, and at the same time profit from his position without it causing too much fuss, then perhaps the system needs to be looked at?

There must be a cut off at some point. Most people who have a pension are investing in stuff they probably wouldn’t expect to. Unless there is a direct conflict of interest, people have a right to a private life.

In his defence, he has Tweeted his thoughts and prayers...which was probably a cut and paste job from any other mass shooting event.

He just held a press conference on the shooting which was again a model of semiliterate bullshit. Back to the white power immigration shit tomorrow.

He’s a grade A fucking idiot who will do significant harm to the US, more so than he has already. It looks like he is feeling more confident now as president and isn’t too worried at ignoring the grown ups in the administration, those who are left anyway.
And it looks like the deal with North Lorea May not hold up. Not that it was a deal on any meaningful way, but it was spun like the deal of the century.
His inability to show any compassion following such events is truly incredible. No doubt First Lady plastic will head there in the near future wearing something inappropriate.

Trump caught out pontificating about Venezuela, and specifically invading, well not so much caught as suffering people leaking. Whether in response or just 'cause he's made up some utter bollocks about Iranians coming into the US and Obama.

I just read that. It's like a shitty Dr. Who episode, stuck in a time vortex. We are back to the 1980's across the spectrum, from civil rights through to ill conceived gun boat diplomacy, with Captain Dumbshit at the helm struggling with the concept of a horizon while staring blankly at a flat map.

I'm getting worried.
Trump hasn't made a new headline in over a week; he's surely bottling up something incredibly stupid just to get us all talking about him again.
It's also Friday, which means that if he does something stupid today, the media will have the whole weekend to talk about nothing else (well, other than football).
Maybe... if we all talk about Trump for the rest of the day he'll be satisfied and NOT do anything stupid?
Gotta be worth a try.

The one he deleted must've been his second effort as this was the response to the first one:
The man is a genius.

Pruitt's gone (EPA).
But before we start celebrating, I'm sure he'll find someone ten times worse, maybe the CEO of Exxon or someone...
