Glasgow look poor. Signing an experienced 10 to back-up Hastings for this season/after Finn left probably would have made all the difference tonight.

Ok, December/Januàry. They were good beating Lyon back to back and Cardiff. Second and third matches against Saracens they were outclassed. My memory of the pro 14 is their form falling away throughout the season from an early peak.

Just noticed that Cheetahs put 63 points on Ulster. Perhaps puts a bit of perspective on the Glasgow result without excusing it.

Cheetahs clearly more settled this year, hardly affected by RWC, and up to speed post Currie Cup and playing at altitude.

Connacht won the Pro14 in last RWC year, perhaps an unfancied team like Cheetahs or even an also ran like edinburgh will be competing for the title this year.

Run in of the pro14 they were great. Remember they basically had to get maximum points each week to hold off Munster

Half watching this game at the moment. Started off wondering why Jackson isn't remotely considered a 10 anymore, so far he's been desperate to show me why.

McDowall with some pretty porous defence so far. Will be very interested to see how he goes this season. I don't know if it's his second season technically but we saw him have a massive impact last time and then look a little out of his depth with the step up. Hopefully he can ride that second season dip.

Fagerson bouncing a few defenders already.

Nice to see Huw Jones still capable of turning it on in those all-or-nothing situations.

That 7 year old scrum-half has a very good pass.

Ah. Gibbins with a clumsy bit of support play losing the ball at the end was pretty annoying.

Maybe I've got some unconscious bias but every time I see Frisby's name on the team sheet I cringe. Has he had any good games in a Weeg shirt?

Seeing several reports of D Rennie being looked at by the ARU to replace Chubby. Anyone got anything more on that? I haven't particularly enjoyed watching his Glasgow team, tbh, although they have undeniably had plenty of great moments... just seem a little flaky when push comes to shove, and every time I watch it is a horror show of mistake after mistake, with individual brilliance papering over the cracks.

That story has been around for a while and seems to have at least some substance. I suspect it would be after this season if it happens though.

Don't think I agree with you on his team's though. I think it would have been a fair criticism of his first season but since then they (especially with players missing) have really stepped up in some tough games

Yep. Think there was has been quite a big drop off in a few of the players (since 2015) in a number of ways, some might be to do with coaching but I think a few of those guys have just naturally faded a bit and don’t have Russell to paper over the cracks.

If he is going, I’d be all for getting the new guy in ASAP so they can start the rebuilding sooner rather than later, and we can probably get some compo from the ARU.

Sounds like if Rennie goes it will be at the end of the season as Australia don't play before then.

I would be inclined (if he wants it) to give O'Halloran the job. Glasgow do not need a shakeup and he is a talented coach who can be given a chance to impose his own ideas while not having to get to know the place from scratch. Some of the young Scottish coaches there would then also have a chance to take on more responsibility.

Are you suggesting there is something behind the scenes? His performances for them haven't been great but I don't think they explain quite how few starts he gets
