I want to catch up on this but I'm a bit scared how bad the second half might be. Did Ireland improve that much or was it us?
Bit of both. I feel very jammy that we won that.Mikey Brown wrote:I want to catch up on this but I'm a bit scared how bad the second half might be. Did Ireland improve that much or was it us?
Don't do that mate, it's like someone basing their opinion of us on what some of the mentalers on the embra forum write... ha, wait... Or in fact, some of the bollocks you write on here.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Had a wee look on some of the Irish provincial forums and a lot of them are blaming Poite. I find that quite hilarious given they got away with their deliberate blocking all game long. If a ref were to correctly penalise them for that then they'd have no attack whatsoever!
It's worth a watch, we tightened up, and deffo got tired in defence, but equal to that the Irish got their shit together.Mikey Brown wrote:I want to catch up on this but I'm a bit scared how bad the second half might be. Did Ireland improve that much or was it us?
I thought they ran out of steam quickly near the end. Considering 4 of our tight 5 basically played 80 mins (ok 70 odd in ford's case) I was surprised how well they came back into it.Edinburgh in Exile wrote:It's worth a watch, we tightened up, and deffo got tired in defence, but equal to that the Irish got their shit together.Mikey Brown wrote:I want to catch up on this but I'm a bit scared how bad the second half might be. I don't think I tarred all the Irish with the same brush there, did I? I certainly didn't intend to. The bulk of the Munster forum match thread seem to think Poite is to blame to varying degrees, for example.Edinburgh in Exile wrote:Don't do that mate, it's like someone basing their opinion of us on what some of the mentalers on the embra forum write... ha, wait... Fair call, it'd be a big ask for either team to play at that tempo for 80. Just rewatched it there now, you aren't wrong about the last 10 minutes or so, Scotland just looked a shade sharper, which I didn't expect.Big D wrote:I thought they ran out of steam quickly near the end. HW, harsh to call that line out jammy imo. Well executed move that worked. It was a good bit of play. No doubt had one of their back row covered Dunbar we'd have caught and driven.
Ah now you didn't cat man, in order to take a swipe at you I needed to deliberately misread that.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:I don't think I tarred all the Irish with the same brush there, did I? I thought Poite was pretty balanced. No Yellow for Bowe, no TMO for Jackson's try, constant blocking & Furlong boring in all day long more than matched our cynical defence.Edinburgh in Exile wrote:Ah now you didn't cat man, in order to take a swipe at you I needed to deliberately misread that.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:I don't think I tarred all the Irish with the same brush there, did I? You are always going to find shit like that if you go looking for it, it's going to come from every losing side, we should know, we lose all the fucking time.
That's a massive stadium isn't it? Seem to remember it being about the same size as croke park isn't it?Adder wrote:Good crowd today

Yeah I did too, but I'm tempering that with the fact that we won and I don't need to look for reasons whilst basking in the reflective glory of our magnificence.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:I thought Poite was pretty balanced. Watching Italy/Wales, yup. Italy competitive so far but still a lot of rugby left to play.
