I really wish we had an alternative to Russell when he is playing like this. Why doesn't he have any patience? I just cannot understand it. Why must every ball be forced if it isn't on?

Sign of a team that just don't know what to do.morepork wrote:What the fuck is going on with those lob passes?

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

It was on but he can't seem to give a fast flat pass.

You can't throw it fast if you want to delay every pass.morepork wrote:hugh_woatmeigh wrote:I really wish we had an alternative to Russell when he is playing like this. Why doesn't he have any patience? I just cannot understand it. Why must every ball be forced if it isn't on?

I feel physically sick.
The sad thing is, the thing we were the most worried about well.. Jon Welsh came in and he did his job. Toony has got this so very, very wrong. They look completely unprepared.

It is not just Townsend. The forwards have been second best and the defence is once again very weak.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:I feel physically sick.

Wales have put in one hell of a shift, a truly clinical performance. Is it a great one? No chance. We have done EVERYTHING we could have possibly done to gift this game to Wales. Toony must answer for this. I have absolutely no problem losing to Wales in Cardiff - they are a top team and have home advantage. The performance is absolutely unforgivable.Donny osmond wrote:This is actually embarrassing now.

It is Toony though. The forwards are well on top in the loose iMO. The game plan is to play some stupid f*cking miracle ball every first phase. Let them truck it up and hit the Welsh line. Earn the right to go wide. They are ill prepared.Big D wrote:It is not just Townsend. We did not lose this game because we lost a couple of lineouts or were pinged at a couple of scrums. The forwards are not responsible for finding themselves defensively mismatched - that is coaching.

How would you like GT to answer for it?hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Wales have put in one hell of a shift, a truly clinical performance. Is it a great one? No chance. Warning signs have been there - The Glasgow team has played like this a few times this year with huge error rate.

Why did Gauzere ignore Horne being taken out without the ball?

It's all the coaches imo. We've not.ever been consistently good defensively under Taylor.hugh_woatmeigh wrote:It is Toony though. The forwards are well on top in the loose iMO. Townsend needs to shoulder a large part of the blame but he's not the only coach who is at fault.
That pass was forward.

A plan B? Preparing the team for the next game? Actually having a f*cking word with Finn would be a start? Being a maverick does not excuse the fact that you still need to be coached.Donny osmond wrote:How would you like GT to answer for it?hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Wales have put in one hell of a shift, a truly clinical performance. Can't help but notice when Laidlaw speaks, Finn listens. Does what he's told. He may be just what Finn needs to sort out this aspect of his game.

Price thinks Finn is the shot caller. Laidlaw KNOWS he, himself, is the shot caller.

Re: 6N starting team
I know I have given Laidlaw more stick than probably anyone else on this board over the years... But that score at the end, despite being a breakaway from Horne was created by Greig. He went against the game plan and marshalled the forwards punching into the defensive line and waiting for the gaps to appear. After a couple of fruitful rolling mauls it must be said. He did not let the backs have that ball until the defence had been stretched.

Re: 6N starting team
Well done Wales. Very good win. Gatland and Edwards are a very effective coaching team - they know how to set up a team to win against us. Blitz hard, keep the ball in play, smash us at the breakdown and feed off our errors.
