What drama!!!!

Some of the best and worst penalties in a shootout that I've ever seen.

Misses that England would be proud of but some pinpoint penalties that England can only dream of.

I've don't think I've seen a shootout ebb and flow from one team to the other.

Awesome.

Well I wanted Germany to win but I thought they would have to do it in normal time. I thought Italy would steal it.

Best team won.

Don't forget Pelle and Darmian. Both based in England.

I said the winner of tonight's game would win the tournament. I had a sneaky suspicion it would be Italy. Ok, so where does that leave us? - Germany - Portugal final, perhaps? Germany - France will be a mouth-watering semi barring another upset from the mighty Icelanders...

Unless Portugal have been blagging everyone and are saving their good stuff for the semis and beyond, I think Wales will beat them. Wales are the better team at the moment.

We'll soon see how good Iceland really are. Stubborn in the group stage and a very late goal against Austria sees them rewarded with a quarter against England. They completely outplayed England. Not too difficult considering how poor we were with the ball (all tournament). Any team remotely capable of defending against a team incapable of attacking stands a great chance of winning.

France looked pretty good against Ireland although most of their best play was against 10 men. That said, they're a capable and more rounded team than England so I think Iceland will have their work cut out.

Never say never though. If Iceland can put in another big performance, they may surprise the hosts.

Wales V Germany in the final.

I think I've identified Italy's problem. Too many 5 star hotel groomed beards. Sort it out. Watched that with some despondent Napoletano "men" afflicted with the same fashion disease.

Good food but.

Just like winters in Iceland, this could be a long night for Iceland.

Unchanged team for 5 matches on the trot is likely to take its toll when you consider their efforts.
