How severe/long it will be I don't know but I can't see it being avoided in the US and with Russia/China already signed up its something we're all going to experience to some degree. Be lucky if it's just economic impact

It's difficult to determine whether Robinson is a Groyper (not least because I hadn't heard of the far-right, pro-dictatorship group before today*). The mainstream press certainly aren't going there (yet). There are plausible links but I've not seen anything solid.
I think it's fairly solid now. All of the things etched on the bullet casings that he prepared and used are groyper internet memes, so it'd be a big coincidence for him not to be.

Assuming he is a groyper, then he'll be paranoid and virulently anti-government and will likely refuse to engage with them, but even if he does, one of the major philosophies of that group is to deliberately obfuscate by adopting contradictory memes and sayings so that normal people are confused by your explanation of a fascist group that sings noted antifascist song Bella Ciao and goes OwO.
If he says anything to the police, it'll probably be that he's a trans liberal queer who did it because he thought Gavin Newsom wanted him to kill fascists.

I’m not jumping straight to conspiracy theories, but I’m curious about the phrase “law enforcement reproduction” when we’re seeing these text messages detailing and admitting to all the crimes that have just come out.
Anyone know what this really means? A direct copy/paste from a messaging app? The term just feels a bit open to interpretation.

I conferred with someone who knows a bit more about TikTok memes than I do - my 16yr old son. He knew about the assassination of this American right-wing guy although he'd never heard of the Groypers. He thought the memes were all basically silly and light-hearted He knew that one was about Furries (which he had to explain to me) and didn't know any meaning behind the song Bella Ciao. He assumed the murderer was left-wing, but mainly because of the victim.
Clearly this take is from someone who knows little about the US political scene, so it's a view with a lot of important info missing. I can't deny that I'd like Robinson to be a Groyper but I have to have some better evidence.
Randomly I did get another view, from an acquaintance's Facebook post. As background she's a Jewish Londoner and a supporter of Israel's actions in Gaza. She seemed to be quite upset at Charlie's Kirk's murder, gutted that someone who, in her view, stood up for what he believed in and spoke his truth could be killed like that. In fact she said he was the first stranger she'd ever mourned (!). Her post got some interesting replies from left-wing types, including me .

Given the roommate/landlord/girlfriend/furry (depending on which source is leading with what today) is apparently singing like a canary, it could mean that they're recreated whole cloth from his testimony.

Yeah, I was pleased about Andor getting recognition. But clearly Disney owning Star Wars which accidentally made a show as good as Andor is a fluke. Andor is over. The bottom line is all, and always was.

I have seen a lot of memes about the texts and had assumed that people were writing hyperbolic mocking exaggerations of them. Today, I learned that what I thought was exaggerated mockery is actually the literal texts that the FBI are claiming are genuine:

I'm not saying it's definite that that "reproduction" is fake, but those are some pretty stilted and fake-sounding texts. Maybe the guy just wrote really weird and so did his alleged girlfriend? Maybe the FBI is currently run by a podcaster who believes in conspiracy theories about the deep state, Q-Anon, 2020 elections, and vaccines who is entirely beholden to Trump?,
I am also looking at this picture released by the FBI of the "engravings" on the bullets used by the "radical leftist shooter", who only shot at and injured detainees rather than ICE Agents:
And wondering whether there is any value in believing any statement of fact that this current FBI makes about anything that could possibly be considered political. It feels wild and tin-foil hat to be saying, "I don't trust the FBI not to lie about crimes" or "I don't trust that sharpied 'Anti-ICE' message not to've been evidence tampering by the FBI to push an agenda," but here's where we are.
