I stand corrected having said funding was being cut to three neighbouring states, money is actually being cut from three Mexican countries

I don't think it is a distraction strategy. It works like that, but the guy is really like this. No mysterious additional depths.

It's just possible windmills create enough noise they might disturb sleep, and it does seem sleep isn't something many take seriously enough across a range of health issues. And if he wants to address health concerns arising from power generation that's great. Still, coal!

I don't really see how Trump can win in 2020. He lost the popular vote last time around and has worked hard to alienate some of the groups who voted for him.

Then again I confidently asserted nobody would be stupid enough to make him their nominee and certainly nobody would be stupid enough to make him president. And there's still little identified as to what the Dems will stand on other than not being Trump. Also Trump might just be getting started on the politics of fear, who knows where this ends up if a mob mentality takes over

The Democrats will hopefully take some responsiblity for their failure in 2016 and provide more room for progressive candidates. Taking responsibility is a hard thing for Americans though, hence the Adderall.

I'm not so sure. The 2016 election was more the result of Democrats screwing it up rather than Trump winning it, although he would disagree with that.

Clinton isn't just hated with the inbred rednecks; her shady role in international arms trade, and her earnings through series of speeches at Goldman Sachs and frankly, yet much more questionable environments, haven't made her much beloved among progressives in the USA. The candidate coming from the Democrats will be better this time round, so that gives hope. But the whole Mueller probe has severely dented public trust in mainstream political media (NYT, WP, Wall Street Journal etc.) what with them superficially and brainlessly hyping the whole thing. Probed by a refusal to accept that Trump is a result of deeper problems, rather than the cause, of course. Trump will milk this, and rumors are that he wants to join the Correspondents Dinner this year. People are already composing the predictable jokes he'll make , like "sorry I wasn't there for the past two years, but I was too busy plotting with Vladimir Putin in your imaginations".

A combination of him milking this little victory on the Mueller probe, and another Wall Street candidate from the Democrats could win it again for Trump.

I've never gotten the impression voters who typically vote Democratic hate Clinton, more she's just not appealing to huge numbers. She certainly turned out to be a much weaker candidate than I'd expected
