Re: Trump
Well, he's Ireland's problem for the next few days at least. Where he seems to think there's a successful border wall.

I posted the Tweet to highlight Trump's comment that the Moon is part of MarsDigby wrote:He has a point, sort of, if NASA is willing to play ball on the publicity front they could get access to the sort of funding they haven't really enjoyed since the last Republican President with dementia signed off on space lasers

NASA shouldn't be about space lasers and the like. I do kinda get your point about them playing ball to secure funding, but they will also have to show where the funding is being spent. That said, I'm sure a few glossy Powerpoint presentations with the word Trump thrown in a few times would do the job whilst the real money is spent on proper research

‘Exploration of the Moon and Mars is intertwined. The Moon provides an opportunity to test new tools, instruments and equipment that could be used on Mars, including human habitats, life support systems, and technologies and practices that could help us build self-sustaining outposts away from Earth. Living on the Gateway for months at a time will also allow researchers to understand how the human body responds in a true deep space environment before committing to the years-long journey to Mars.’

Fair enough, but the orange buffoon could've worded things better....but it remains to be seen if that is what he meant anywayMellsblue wrote:https://www.nasa.gov/topics/moon-to-mars/overviewWaspInWales wrote:I posted the Tweet to highlight Trump's comment that the Moon is part of MarsDigby wrote:He has a point, sort of, if NASA is willing to play ball on the publicity front they could get access to the sort of funding they haven't really enjoyed since the last Republican President with dementia signed off on space lasers

Your stronger comment on Trump saying NASA shouldn't be talking about the Moon is to have a wild guess as to which orange retard was very recently extolling appropriation of monies to NASA for going to Moon.
And yes his wording his complaint of NASA (and as it turns out himself) is... odd

I’d agree that he doesn’t come across as the most knowledgeable man in the world but I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.WaspInWales wrote:Fair enough, but the orange buffoon could've worded things better....but it remains to be seen if that is what he meant anywayMellsblue wrote:https://www.nasa.gov/topics/moon-to-mars/overviewWaspInWales wrote:

You laugh now, but if one had the time to commit to such bum-fluffery, one could probably trace the source of motivation to that very spot. Maybe tariffs are the answer? Tariff the moon until it treats Space Force fairly! Fuck you moon.

Yes, many people can lie better - she just lied lots, not well, she didn't actually convince anyone (plenty didn't need convincing, as they just wanted their bias confirmed to them).

I can't agree. She hasn't held a formal press conference for over 100 days. It is not the job of the press secretary to spin propaganda. The position is meant to be a formal conduit through which the (free) press can communicate with government. Sanders gave more announcements on Fox news than she did from the white house, and most of those were on the lawn outside. Bitch will go down as one of the biggest cunts to ever fill that role.

On what she should have been doing she's failed wholly, frankly she's failed at being human. At what she's been willing and tried to do she's shown rather impressive discipline.morepork wrote:Digby wrote:Given what she was seemingly trying to do I thought Sanders was excellent. Rock Star Diplomacy 101: How not to do it. Object exercise #709:
Having unilaterally decided to pull out of a negotiated agreement with Iran conditional on that country complying to limits on uranium enrichment activities in exchange for lifting of economic sanctions and the freeing up of Iranian assets, the US state department declares that Iran must abide by the conditions of the deal that it nullified without apparent reason:
Iran announced Monday it would break a limit on uranium stockpiles established by a 2015 agreement with world powers that was intended to restrict the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program in exchange for an easing of international sanctions.
President Donald Trump withdrew from the agreement, signed by his predecessor, and reinstated punishing economic sanctions, resulting in sharply rising tensions that deteriorated further with the Iranian warning that it could soon start to enrich uranium to just a step away from weapons-grade levels.
That put the State Department in the position of defending the limits set by the 2015 deal that was so maligned by Trump and his national security team.
“We continue to call on the Iranian regime not to obtain a nuclear weapon, to abide by their commitments to the international community,” State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus told reporters.
Are these cunts for real?

Re: Trump
While there is no denying that there is a lot wrong with the Iranian regime, I have a lot of sympathy for them with this. America is crashing their economy basically because the President is a vindictive prick who hates his predecessor so much that he'll blindly undo anything that he did, regardless of whether that's a good idea or not. Iran's choices are either to phlegmatically accept the deliberate destabilisation of their country or decide to earn the punishment they're already receiving, and at least get the advantages that go along with it.

Re: Trump
Wouldn't be the first time America has fucked them over. Who sanctioned fat ignorant fucks to be the arbiters of what is good and what is not anyway? Trump and Pompeo couldn't find their own dicks without a GPS. Bolton? Really? This guy is running policy? Then we have Jared, about to set the Israel Palestine issue back 50 years with his "deal of the century" (I shit you not), with not a clue as to the damage his clueless ignorance is about to unleash. Has not that part of the world been fucked with the wrong end of the pineapple of freedom enough?
I think its safe to say the world is pretty fucking sick and tired of the USA arseing around in the affairs of others. Sort it out.
