The US is not pursuing an isolationist ideal. They are fucking over Iran at the behest of the House of Saud and Israel, because that is where the gold is. Trump recently handed out a Presidential Medal of Freedom to Aurthur Laffer, which illustrates the deep rooted belief in an economic mantra that has proven at best anecdotal.
