I'd have chosen Radwan and OHC ahead of Murley and Elliott. I'd have Woodward ahead of any of the centres picked. Why has whatsisname, the young lock in France not been selected? Is he eligible?

Well this is for an upcoming training camp so I'd guess he's still with Racing. You'd think he's a good option ahead of someone like Capstick though, even as a 4/6 cover, particularly with only three locks.

Kpoku hasn't got a contract here (yet) so he's ineligible

Capstick and Northmore the two strange ones for me.

Would have expected Tuima, Bamber or Tizard ahead of Capstick. Guess it’s a bit irrelevant as he’ll be behind Ewels and Ted Hill plus Coles and CCS if they are fit for the summer tour.

Northmore has been with the senior squad a bit but I just don’t see it at all. Again, it probably doesn’t matter as he’ll be behind Dingwall, Ojomoh and maybe Butt.

OHC and PBB unfortunate to miss out but then all 4 wingers included are very good.

Martin rehabbing with the squad- does that mean he has a chance for Argentina?

You can ask me anything! :) I can't remember with real accuracy. 6 or 8 including under 20s perhaps?

It wasn't really a mystery, more a sad sort of amusement  lovely to see all the effort made. Then again, as before, this isn't the tour squad, is it?

plus ca change. Why strange? You seemed very aerated about 'the wrong thread', I thought it quite funny, certainly not a reason to get aerated.

I’m sensing you’re just in one of those moods and I should back away from this conversation, but I really don’t know what you’re talking about.

I figured you just genuinely didn’t see why there were two (!) duplicates of the squad in this thread.

You’d be thinking:

Obano
Ewels
Pepper
Underhill
Hill
Barbeary
Spencer
Donoghue
Butt
Ojomoh
Muir
Cokanasiga

Davidson
Haffar
Coles
Dingwall

All in with a shout.

Of those:
Underhill
Hill
Coles
Dingwall

Would be nailed on, based on previous squads. Spencer too could be added to that.

Guess would be Capstick, Illione, Ma’asi White and Kenninghan drop out. Spencer would probably be for Quirke. I’d expect them to take a shot on Ojomoh, which arguably should be for Northmore, though he’s been around the squad a fair bit, so possibly Seb Atkinson.

I think Pepper deserves a shot, but for who is difficult.

I’d be surprised if we didn’t take another prop with us. 5 seems light. Should be Obano.

Donoghue for Charlie Atkinson? Risky with his levels of experience. I’d be tempted to do it mind. Big ask though to effectively be backup 10 at international level already. Or we lump for Slade there.

That said he could always take more I suppose. 35 maybe?

Injured and with Saints so wouldn’t be available anyway. He played in the A game against Ireland so can’t be far away. Competitive area though.

Worth remembering just how much Batley has been through to get here: https://www.rugbypass.com/news/joe-batl ... er-battle/

Hope he does go on tour. He was desperately unlucky not to play in the A game with getting a broken leg and he'd surely have been capped in the 6N if he'd stayed fit.

That certainly puts some perspective on things.

I’d noticed him seeming to get over the try line quite a lot but I can’t say I really know what he’s about as a player. Will be interesting to see him in the summer. Glad he recovered in time.

I think because he gets around the field so well I hadn’t appreciated how big he is. I had him down as one of those slightly lightweight flanker/lock types. I don’t know whether he throws it around enough in the tight exchanges but he certainly seems to be handy in the loose.

In case anyone else is interested.

Joe BATLEY is a 28-year-old English rugby player standing at 2 m tall (6 ft 7 in) and weighing in at 125 kg (19 st 9.58 lb; 275.58 lb) , who currently plays for Bristol Bears in England as lock.
