Still cool with this cat, Coco?
I hope this doesn’t feel like an attack. I’m genuinely curious.

It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis to people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance.

Would him having raped a 13 year old girl make any difference or is it all just noise at this point?
I'm just trying to imagine what it will take.

I was speaking of how he is doing as The President of the United States. His baffoonery, and twitter antics dont concern me much... i think he likes to troll sometimes and get people going. If there is proof beyond a reasonable doubt that he raped a child he should be locked up and butt raped for the rest of his days.Mikey Brown wrote:Would him having raped a 13 year old girl make any difference or is it all just noise at this point?

Doesn't his behavior influence his position when it comes to, say, international agreements?Coco wrote:I was speaking of how he is doing as The President of the United States. Re: Trump
His twitter antics resulted in a real time conflict with with his own DOJ lawyers argument for a court ruling on the census citizenship question issue. How could the Twitter antics possibly be of no concern? The same antics precipitated a military standoff with Iran. If a Buffon communicates on a platform that has consequences for domestic and geopolitical clarity, how is being a buffoon not of concern?Coco wrote:I was speaking of how he is doing as The President of the United States. Re: Trump
I dont care about his twitter antics or his baffoonery... those are peripheral things I choose not to get too uptight about. My choice of course. If somebody wants to make those thing out to be the basis of their opinion of him they are free to. He did not get elected because he was a straight laced, say what everyone wants to hear or thinks is appropriate kinda guy.morepork wrote:His twitter antics resulted in a real time conflict with with his own DOJ lawyers argument for a court ruling on the census citizenship question issue. Puja
I'd be worried about the way both sides in the USA and indeed governments across the world are so blasé about debt, what rankles with the Republicans is how they pretend to be hawks when it comes to such as health spending or education, but are willing to piss it up the wall on tax cuts for the elite of military spending.
And Trump is certainly a concern, whether his confusion over budgets, his lack of understanding around how government works, his lack of understanding of science including what scientific process actually entails, his willingness to confuse how the law should work with what he perceives as being in his interests. He's massively ramped up the level of corruption, he's progressing theories he posits are correct because he believes them over evidence, we've got blatant ongoing corruption in his family and cabinet, his Attorney General is using his office to subvert the law, he attacks ambassadors for doing their job, his policies on the border make no sense and will cost a fortune, he's thieved money from a pool of money intended for DC security to have a parade of tanks to make him feel better about his mushroom cock, ramps up pressure on Iran and Korea for no return isolating the US from what allies it has, is making the US economy less competitive in the long run, is handing over holes in the finances to future Presidents as he doesn't know what to do, is actively seeking to damage the environment....
Even if one wanted smaller government, a strong military, a focus on the domestic over the international he's shockingly bad

Re: Trump
The scary thing is that he is not even at the wheel. Not once, once, has he gone before the house or senate to argue a case for a single policy directive. Not even a town hall type of event where he lays out the logic behind tax cuts, trade barriers, low interest rates, or any other of the 1980's-inspired fiscal directives. Health? Nothing. Foreign policy direction? Forget about it. He has spent the entirety of his tenure campaigning on the one thing he seems able to partially process, and that thing is xenophobia. Immigrants are the root of all evil. While he throws that smoke screen up, corporations savage health, education, and the military budget for their own personal gain. It defies logic to paint this administration in any colour other than a bold Rolf Harris shade of sheer incompetence.
Yet some are happy with this state of affairs. All that money and power to have a population that lags behind on education, health, and quality of life by any international standard out there. People in this country deserve better than the bunch of crooks that are making this state of affairs so much worse for the upcoming generation.

Re: Trump
Sorry, I wasnt trying to get in to a debate. I am in the real estate, development sector. In a nutshell, he loosened up a few things in my state (and others) like environmental constraints for instance, that were making it extremely hard for any small business like mine to get any work. The only companys that could afford to change out all their heavy equipment to meet the standards were huge national corporations... not the small local businesses trying to compete with them. After 8 or so years of the construction recession, it was truly a welcome change to be able to get back to work in California.Stom wrote:Was kinda looking for a how thereCoco wrote:YesStom wrote:

Wouldn't it have made more sense to give help to small businesses to reach environmental targets, though?
By, for instance, buying the old machinery and giving grants to help the small companies buy the new machinery?
Otherwise you're kinda just solving one problem to worsen another...

I have definitely come to believe more progressive politicians do forget what seem like minor details do cause hardship for "the little man", something people like Trump and Farage have used to great effect.Mikey Brown wrote:I’m torn. That’s both understandable and quite profoundly depressing.

That was giving help. If you mean monetary help, where would that money come from esp in a recession?Stom wrote:Thanks.Coco wrote:Sorry, I wasnt trying to get in to a debate. Not giving tax breaks to people who don't need it? The largest military budget in the world? Fines levied to large corps for breaking the environmental targets?Coco wrote:That was giving help.
