With even half of last weeks form we would have strolled that one. They looked completely out of gas after a long humid day.

Twice Farndale and Robertson were hauled down with the line beckoning after a 30 metre clean break and turned over. Typically, the deciding try came from a not straight NZ lineout (even the NZ commentator was aghast!) and a speculative fling inside which bounced off a Scottish players hands into Mickelsons who cantered to the line.

Quarter final qualification needed a 26 point swing but we may never have had a better chance to get the first win over any All Black team.

The cynic in me would suggest that neither Scholes nor Allen are Scots qualified and therefore Brown was the unlucky one out that has to go to Vegas.

I think the coaches are taking a look at the other two in games. Allens contract is up IIRC and they need to determine whether Scholes will be an option next year.

Beat Japan in extra time to finish 13th in Vancouver.

Dougie Fife took a whack to the head in that match - I thought the Japanese guy was negligent and almost led with his own head. Anyway, no yellow, Fife off, and we run up the other end to score.

Need a couple of good results in hong kong and wherever the next one is to stop the season drifting away after a solid starts.

Time to start watching again. Beating South Africa by 14 with 2 mins to go.

A bit like a reverse of the Twickenham final last year!

Call me old-fashioned, but beating the Saffers, the Canucks and the Nips is a pretty nifty day`s work.

The junior Horne is a major prospect..

Brilliant performance by Horne and 2 very good Robertson tries (one after being emptied) see off Fiji 24-0.

Horne, Robertson and Farndale excellent in some really good team performances. How often do Fiji score zilch in a 7s game?

Sign of a natural scrumhalf. Pleased that he'll get a chance at Glasgow next season it looks like.
