It was when Cloete broke through, got tap tackled and was stumbling and Manu smashed him and dislodged the ball. From one angle it looked no arms ish, but I think it’s was more force of impact than anything.

The citing announcement I read had the 49th minute mentioned, which is the tackle after someone on the Tigers side kicks ahead and Cloete chases back into his 22 and picks up the ball before being tackles by someone by two players on the Leicester side with Manu the 2nd man in who really completes the tackle. Unless there's something else more obvious in the 49th minute I've ignored, or it's not in the 49th minute

I mentioned on another thread the reverse angle must give a different picture as the TV angle isn't showing much that would interest anyone. The left arm doesn't look in a bad place as the Cloete is spun around and down, but there must be something there for a citing.

Worth noting, though it's by no means conclusive, there's no reaction from any Munster player. Mind there wasn't by any Exeter payer when Healey did connect in poor fashtion with LCD

Good work EP! I guess his shoulder does connect with the head, but it's nothing more than a yellow. Certainly you'd be fuming if a player was red carded for that. Hopefully no ban.

Agreed, its not leading with the shoulder at all, its just a consequence of how the player moves prior to being tackled- though I guess duty of care and all that

Ok - shoulder to chin never looks pretty - nice little whiplash there for Cloete; which is, of course, utterly irrelevant.

For me, it fails the red card test - but I don't think that's actually been applied for about 10 years now. A retrospective yellow would be absolutely fair; 1-2 weeks probably to be expected.

It'll probably come down to interpretation of how low Cloete is - he's fairly low, but not exactly ducking / falling into contact.

I think we need some more angles. The head movement suggests there was high contact, but it could be Manu just made very positive contact. I've seen worse ignored than this tackle by Manu, but if he gets 1-2 weeks then they do know they run the risk going high

If that's the standard for a red card then with a view to player safety fine. But I can't believe they'll consistently hold that standard, so much so I wonder why he got cited, though again the reverse angle may show something more/worse

I think that there is the square root of feck all wrong with that tackle. It is an embarrassment to the citing panel that it has found time in their schedule and whoever put it there should be banned for several hours.
