I don't think I read one positive comment, while some of the negativity was completely unfounded. There is something profoundly juvenile about the US media. US media coverage of the tournament has been overwhelmingly positive. Try not to let your own bias cloud your cut and paste.

Of course, the US media is a sales industry which seeks to appeal to the redneck idiots which dominate its landscape.

From the pecks on the cheek that were described as sexual harassment to the claims Putin was exploiting the tournament to divert attention from Russia's political problems, the American press showed little but arrogance, hypocrisy and a complete lack of insight.
