Var should go, yes. Waste of time. But I've already said my piece about that. Disappointing there was so much nitpicking from the US media over the staging of the event. I don't think I read one positive comment, while some of the negativity was completely unfounded. There is something profoundly juvenile about the US media. Sometimes it really seems as if it were written by high school kids.

US media coverage of the tournament has been overwhelmingly positive. Try not to let your own bias cloud your cut and paste.

Of course, the US media is a sales industry which seeks to appeal to the redneck idiots which dominate its landscape.

From the pecks on the cheek that were described as sexual harassment to the claims Putin was exploiting the tournament to divert attention from Russia's political problems, the American press showed little but arrogance, hypocrisy and a complete lack of insight.

Examples? (Cue cut and paste).

Ironically, the redneck idiots are currently more preoccupied with the dismissal of the EU and NATO by the Orange Fuckwomble than they are with criticizing Russian event hosting. You'd know this if you were resident here, but as you are not, I fart in your general direction. You are looking for an excuse to wheel out an unrelated narrative of your own making.
