Yeah that went well.

It might be time for us all to buy Hammy another coffee.

I feel sorry for Earl and Simmonds it’s almost like the flying flanker/no.8 is going the way of the small specialist openside. Maybe that’s just the nature of test rugby - opensides are getting even bigger if one looks at Pearson for example.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:29 pm Sounds like Watson in for OHC and Lawes in for Earl.
Can't say I'm overly excited by that but they've both been fantastic in the past. Isiekwe's spot is still just a bit of a mystery.
BCurry in for Earl and Lawes for Isiekwe in the end.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:29 pm Sounds like Watson in for OHC and Lawes in for Earl.

Telling that Lawes is the lock replacement. Wonder if Willis will be required to don a beret in the 2nd half again?Puja wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:34 pmBCurry in for Earl and Lawes for Isiekwe in the end.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:29 pm Sounds like Watson in for OHC and Lawes in for Earl.

I'll take that. I'm glad not Lawes straight back in at 6 and very happy for BCurry to get another shot - hopefully he gets a decent number of minutes. Arundell on the bench is decent as well - he's still so young and so inexperienced, that I'm glad we're not just tossing him in at the deep end when we do have a quality option like Watson available.

Earl has been pretty average off the bench. Successive coaches have had a look at Simmonds and decided against. Less about a trend, more about the individuals.jngf wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:33 pmI feel sorry for Earl and Simmonds it’s almost like the flying flanker/no.8 is going the way of the small specialist openside. Replace Mako and Cole with VRR and Stuart and we’re starting to get somewhere…Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:38 pm Good to see Curry instead of Isiekwe on the bench.
Let's hope wee Courtney remembers how to scrummage and doesn't have Vunipola staring him in the face as his head gets shoved between his legs.
At his best Watson is world class, hope he's fully fit nowPuja wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:34 pmBCurry in for Earl and Lawes for Isiekwe in the end.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:29 pm Sounds like Watson in for OHC and Lawes in for Earl.

How's he going to get any meaningful experience? Ten minutes off the bench at the fag end of an international isn't really much use to his development. To be honest, I'd rather he just stay at LI & play full matches.Puja wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:34 pmBCurry in for Earl and Lawes for Isiekwe in the end.Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:29 pm Sounds like Watson in for OHC and Lawes in for Earl.

I’m sure Morgan would make a good test 7 but really small for a no.8 at 5’ 11”. Also Reffell deserved to keep his place in starting XV imo (despite me being a big fan of Tipuric’s style)Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:45 pm 15. Leigh Halfpenny (Scarlets – 97 caps)

Interesting they've dropped both Reffell and Morgan, who I thought had been two of their better players recently.
I can picture Tompkins being used to run at Smith a lot when he comes on. That is a very inexperienced starting midfield for Wales though.
Is Owen Williams good or what? I sort of thought he'd disappeared.
then Ford for Faz, Freeman for Malins and Dombrandt find his intl mojo...Beasties wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:40 pmReplace Mako and Cole with VRR and Stuart and we’re starting to get somewhere…Mikey Brown wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 12:38 pm Good to see Curry instead of Isiekwe on the bench.
