Need to protect the ball
More. We’re almost doing too well at times and driving too far past the ball at the ruck and leaving it exposed.

It’s a bit harum scarum. You can see the Portugal sevens experience.

Marginal call on the seatbelt tackle but we don't look great. Too many unforced errors and a good kicking game from the Portuguese

Gatland will be chomping at the bit. Portugal look to be be tiring at half time. We really need to get some structure in our game in the next forty.

Yep. Better support needed and quicker ball. Portugal look dangerous with ball in hand, but their pack is tiring.

I’ll be happy if we kick to the corners a bit and use our maul a bit.

'Portugal look deflated'
HT: Wales 14-3 Portugal

Josh Navidi

Former Wales and British and Irish Lions back row on BBC Scrum V

Portugal look deflated and they are getting tired so the longer we keep the ball on the park it is going to work in our favour.

They’re very fast at the breakdown and move the ball quickly. You can see why this is our second(?) string but they have to step up.
