Re: Pre Season News
In less obvious news, Baths essentially -academy teak led Cardiff firsts-ish at HT, 11-15 before finally losing 29-18 after Cardiff decided to just do some mauling practice.
Not seen the match itself, but purely from the score-board, it's one to be proud of

26 - 54 in Saints Leinster. Logan put in some very impressive carries off the bench.

Re: Pre Season News
Bristol team to face Connacht in the final pre-season friendly (behind closed doors):
15. Rich Lane, 14. Gabriel Ibitoye, 13. Benhard Janse van Rensburg, 12. James Williams, 11. Benja Elizalde, 10. AJ MacGinty, 9. Harry Randall; 1. Ellis Genge, 2. Harry Thacker, 3. George Kloska, 4. Josh Caulfield, 5. Joe Batley, 6. James Dun, 7. Benjamin Grondona, 8. Fitz Harding (c).
Subs: 16. Gabriel Oghre, 17. Jake Woolmore, 18. Max Lahiff, 19. Joe Owen, 20. Paddy Pearce, 21. Kieran Marmion, 22. Jack Bates, 23. Deago Bailey.
If it's like the others then they won't post the results. Does seem like Kloska is making a push to be starting tighthead. Nice to see Deago back in contention to, but hopefully starting behind Elizalde isn't a sign he's on his last chance..

Re: Pre Season News
Interesting that Saints are playing Luke Green at 3, ahead of Millar-Mills and Davison, for what is probably going to be their toughest match of their entire season. I know he's rated at Saints, but I wasn't expecting him to be competing for a starting shirt.
Obv pre-season is pre-season and all things may be different come the start of the Prem, but it's interesting to see he's in the mix.

Perhaps Millar-Mills and Davison haven't been training the house down during pre season and this is a bit of a kick up the backside.Puja wrote: ↑Thu Sep 12, 2024 4:10 pm Interesting that Saints are playing Luke Green at 3, ahead of Millar-Mills and Davison, for what is probably going to be their toughest match of their entire season. Good to see Green back in England. Didnt really go anywhere after u20s but maybe a couple of season in the US has sharpened his game.

Re: Pre Season News
Didn't see it posted, so Quins beat London Scottish 35-0...
Harlequins Starting XV: 1. Wyn Jones (51) 2. Jack Walker (61) 3. Titi Lamositele (51) 4. Harry Browne (51) 5. George Hammond (51) 6. Zach Carr (40) 7. Seb Driscoll 8. Tom Lawday (Captain) 9. Jake Murray 10. Connor Slevin (40) 11. Roma Zheng (40) 12. Bryn Bradley (51) 13. Will Joseph (51) 14. Oscar Beard 15. Leigh Halfpenny (40)
Impact Players: 16. Jack Musk (61) 17. Jordan Els (51) 18. Will Hobson (51) 19. Stephan Lewies (51) 20. Will Trenholm (51) 21. Archie White (40) 22. Will Porter (61) 23. Jamie Benson (40) 24. Lennox Anyanwu (51) 25. Hayden Hyde (51) 26. Nick David (40) 27. Cassius Cleaves (40)
A distinct lack of backrows for that game.
Interestingly, it was scoreless in the first half, with all the points coming in the second half.

Good article on saints scrum here, hopefully this is a pathway that can work as well as the saints backs have
