Typical England. All the ball but unable to score.

I don't think we've played that badly. We've created chances but yet again, can't score.

Wales have one shot and they score!

It's russia all over again, dominating the match completely but not doing anything in the danger area. The only difference is Wales have scored first here.

It's almost like Wales are saying let England have the ball and watch them fuck it up. That plan is working perfectly.

Just not good enough from England, we've been slow and ponderous in areas of the pitch that matter.

You're crazy if you think that. It's been static and unimaginative.

The first half was abysmal.

Much better this half. Sturridge may lose possession several times a match, but he brings so much more danger to the pitch. He draws defenders and creates space. Now we just need Wilshere and we'll start to look like a team.

I guess Hart was just surprised that Bale was so good at free kicks, he has no previous after all...

Hodgson always makes one good decision followed by a bad one. What did he expect bringing Rashford on? 3 CFs, no creator anymore. Insanity.

This Euros has just reminded me why I always choose the rugby over the football when given a choice. It's just terrible.

No one seems to be mentioning it post match,....but Aaron Ramsey's engine is f*cking amazing.

I was surprised he started the 2nd half......at 75mins I was sure he was cooked. The fecker is proper Duracell.

In fairness,....football has become an awful spectator event. That was the most exciting game I've watched since England v Poland in '78.

Wanted to post earlier but had some cat/bird issues that needed to be dealt with. Bastard cat!!

Anyway, really pleased with that. Result was deserved and I don't think Wales can have any complaints. They were passive for most of the match. For all the pre-match talk, they were very disappointing.

Now on to England. It was a typically frustrating performance for a long time. Loads of possession, some decent chances but nothing to show for it. Sterling should've scored and looked out of his depth every time he got the ball. There is no way on earth he should feature against Slovakia. Yes it was static but that isn't going to be fixed with a click of the fingers. Some players are willing to run into space more but others don't seem to want to venture from where they're supposed to be.

I didn't get Rashford coming on either but fair play to Woy for having a go. I was expecting to see Milner and Henderson but he took a couple of gambles and it paid off.

Yes..it was late '73 to be precise, qualifier for W.Germany '74.
We only managed a draw v Wales at Wembly and got done by the clever Lubanski in Katowice., where he mugged Mooro who didn't play in this match and played his last international a month later.
Attractive Eng. team with Currie, Channon & Chivers..mullered them - and they finished third in the finals.
Sir Alf got binned after the quallies after over 10 years at the helm during which time he had some success.

Yeah, I thought that too. He seemed to be tackling everyone at the same time for about twenty minutes. I thought Lalalalallana had a similar level of motoring too. England were the better side, but can count themselves lucky with Vardy miles offside when the ball was played, only for the ref to rule him played onside by Williams - completely the wrong call in my view. Anyway, disappointed with the result, slightly more disappointed with our second half performance, not surprised though. England have the makings of a good team and judging by the games so far, they only have Italy to fear. Slovakia won't be a walk in the park, but if they can contain a potent strike force, they'll take three points from the game. Wales are good enough to beat Russia and I'm reasonably confident we will do so.

Yet completely the correct call to everyone else. Williams played him onside. Had the ball come off an English player, it would have been offside. Being in an offside position is not an offence.

Spot on officiating and nice to see instead of errors resulting in goals/disallowed goals.

Wales are definitely good enough to beat Russia but they can't be that passive again. I was expecting them to play a bit today but they had no interest in attacking. After all the hype and blagging from Bale, it was a disappointment.

Gonna be an exciting last couple of games.

England were out played completely in the game in Warsaw - I remember watching it and it was one-way football.

In truth though, England failed when they failed to beat Wales at the old Wembley - it took a spectacular Norman Hunter strike to get a draw,

The return game against Poland was also one-way traffic except in our favour. Hunter did miss a tackle but the shot that beat Shilton should never have got past him.

That said, that Polish team was pretty damn good and finished third in the 1974 FIFA World Cup and had the tournament's leading goal scorer in Lato.

Williams played Vardy on-side.

You're only off side if there are less than two defenders between you and the goal line AND the ball is played to you by a member of your own team (throw-in's excepted).

Wales are good enough to beat Russia but they need to be more adventurous. Coleman just doesn't have much to work with though.

Hammy I thought he was off side in real time but as every one said the ball came off the welsh centre back not an england player.

I will stick by my original assertation. We were static and lucky to win that match. The only players who actually seem to inject pace and movement are Wilshere and Sturridge. I thought the latter was our best player yesterday. By a distance.

But it doesn't stop the whole tournament being of very low standard so far.
