It was you lot that brought Junior into this. The OP was to do with pops.
Nope blaming you personally!
I'm happy for England to bring him back into the fold. You were starting to look alright in the 6Ns, you were obviously missing his test match animal status and limited skillset.

Don't you dare forward that to Borthwick!!
If he gets anywhere near the test team, we wont need to. The commetariat will spaff themselves into a state of nirvana with articles on how we won the remaining tests. Poor old Borthwick wont be able to open. paper without someone suggesting Farrell should be picked again.

It is beyond my simple mind how anyone would willingly set the team back by so doing. Can we be that stupid? Don't answer that.
Not really. It's shit technique but it's not malicious. But I suspect we aren't going to agree
So, after x number of iterations of said technique, you go from incompetent to being a......
X is variable for us all
Really incompetent fool who should know better?
I should know by now that I can’t plaster. But I still keep trying as it might be “good enough this time”.
It doesn’t make me a malicious plasterer though
Understandable attitude if, after every time you do it badly, the plastering experts declare that, despite the evidence of your eyes, you've actually done an acceptable job and thus don't need any punishment.

Because the vast majority of his dodgy tackles aren't high shots, but are shoulders to the ribs, .

that's nonsense. He aims to hit high, aims to hit the ball and dislodge it. Others try similar but manage too slide up on to head far less frequently - simply by wrapping an arm properly or trying to get a hand on the ball.

Hes not a dirty player, but his tackling is and he should have learned years ago. The thing that pisses me off most is the hologram cloak over the right side of his body that somehow shows refs there was an attempt to wrap.
I think someone said along the lines of it was allowed back then. It was by certain refs for Farrell but other players were shown cards for the same or less. I clearly recall one Sarries game where he hit the ball carrier's head in 3 different incident, and I'm not sure even a pen was awarded in an of them
not a dirty player? Maybe. What he does is dangerous. He knows it is, and has been told it is. And like every player he has a duty of care to other players. As do those who select him. Had he had all the cards he should have had, it would have stopped and we would be discussing something else about him.

I said that about a dump tackle, but with a ?
He’s had a fair few yellows and reds and bans in fairness.

Like Warburton, he needs to appeal to an English audience. Regardless of past form, Farrell isn’t at the races internationally now
I normally have a lot of time for Charlie Morgan, but this is embarrassing. In that article Fazlet gets praised for:
1) His 'movement in defence' as he steps in on the wrong man and creates an overlap because he "keeps moving"
2) Being obliterated by Wilson because "Wilson bulldozes through him, yet is brought down by Beirne without hurting the Lions too much."
3) Itoje's turnover because he joined the defensive line and pushed Genge further out.
4) Missing a tackle on Suaali'i because he "recovered [after being stepped] to join a tackle and ensure the Wallabies must work with a slow breakdown." Extra note: "On statistics sheets, Farrell recorded one completed tackle with two misses. Such a return recalls the words of Felix Jones to the Springboks squad during the 2019 World Cup: “Don’t tell me Owen Farrell missing the most tackles at a World Cup is a good thing”. But some misses are more costly than others and there is far more to defence – and other areas of the game – than this data." Apparently Fazlet knows the right tackles to miss, where someone else will cover for him.
5) Not successfully catching Wright on a kick-chase or doing anything to affect play but trying really hard.
6) Yelling at the referee that a forward pass was forward, hence earning the scrum.
7) Kinghorn's break, because he played an extremely standard pull-back pass of the kind that England often use prop-forwards for and this allowed the Lions to play with greater width.
8) Stuart's decision not to pass to him and make a break instead.
I actually don't mind Fazlet the player as much as others do (when he's fit and in form), but this kind of pre-determined looking-for-reasons adulation is vomit-inducing and it makes me **want** to hate him.

Wow that really is plumbing the depths.
I'm afraid Farrell has seldom received any kind of balanced appraisal from the media. They have fawned over him and heaped lavish praise for even the most average performances.
Any kind of balance and objectivity would highlight his errors and obvious limitations but they are simply glossed over.
Which leads to this shamefully inadequate fluff from a guy who has put out some good stuff in the past.

I just hope Farrell retires soon. His 'presence' and 'class' will not be missed, especially if Silly Bugger messes up English progress by having him in the AIs squad.

To be clear, I don't 'mind' the younger fitter in form Farrell either, its just he should not have been a 100+cap intl mostly as a starter. 50 caps off the bench would have been flattering for his skill set at intl level.
That's just nonsense from Charlie, who I know and normally respect his views.

Same. I don't think I want him coaching either.
Why so? He’s not that athletically gifted, but clearly there is something about his drive and communication that makes him worth having around for a near-infinite number of players and coaches.
I probably wouldn’t have him coaching tackle technique, sure, but I imagine he’s got a lot of the same qualities that make his dad so good as a coach.
He gets OTT praise for things like his ability to square up and give a pass, but you would assume he’ll be working with some players who actually offer a threat of pace or power to go with it.
My main concern would be him actually paying his dues and not just waltzing in to a high level job immediately, which now I say it does seem inevitable.

double this.
Too many (top) ex players get parachuted into big roles without earning their badges.

England were plagued with it for years with Johnson, then Lancaster/Catt/Gustard/Farrell. Can easily see it happening again and the media would be all over it.
