Needed that - still a massive lead at this stage.
( If 6 of your team bag a

, lasting 15 balls between them, it's putting a bit of pressure on the rest

..)

Can anyone inform me of the point of Chris Woakes and why we kept him, but had to shuffle on Anderson?

I guess he's only playing cos Atkinson and Wood are injured and Archer isnt quite fit yet.
The late order collapse and new ball bowling yesterday afternoon was abysmal. The good work of Brook and Smith undermined.

Looks like theyโve ground us into the dust. Crawley and Duckett have chosen this match to be simultaneously crap.

These are pretty dead pitches and Woakes recorded bowling in England is sensational, and heโs usually a good bat at 8. But heโs been poor tbh

c. 1500 runs in 4 days says it's not a good old results wicket..though Mr Lara can vouch for the Edg. run-getting potential ! He does struggle a bit with non-Eng. conditions found abroad, and it's been unusually hot/dry in recent months, though you'd think they'd have enough intel. to pick horses for courses.
Some cloud/rain forecast tomorrow but will be lucky to avoid the loss here.

Some tonking that, India's biggest ever win on foreign soil, but could have been worse. Smith delivers yet again and with Brook we have new top talent as others fade.
Hopefully Archer will be firing on all cylinders at Lords.

Smith averages 260 and ends up losing

Smith and Brook get a pass. The rest......er, dont. The contribution of the top 4 and the bowlers was pitiful.
Changes for Lords inevitable.

yes, but shouldn't forget that we whacked em in the first test. But the bowling looks very pedestrian bar the odd burst from Carse (and Stokes). Crawley looks to be in the firing line, but who to replace him (I mean Sibley and Burns score for fun in the county matches, but that says more about the county matches; elsewhere, not sure dropping Root is an answer

....Pope? but did just score a big ton. Challenging.

Root & Stokes steadying the ship - need a few tasty partnerships now. Tail's not been that waggy for a while.

Absorbing days cricket. England had to work for every run. Great knock by Root.

First time ever (pro. matches) which surprises me a bit,

unfortunately Bumrah displays why he's considered not just the best in the world (tho Rabada might have a word) but one of the best fast bowlers ever (if he'd been able to be fit more, his record would be pretty astonishing probs)

How is pant allowed to bat, but is subbed as a keeper. Bit rich the Indians complaining about time wasting tbh
