Not unexpected. No-one really thought the ‘10 days’ prognosis was true.

As long as it’s only for the first two games, we can absorb it. NZ just put 92 points on Tonga and we should be confident of beating the USA without needing our first XV.

Argentina is 4 weeks away. England must feel he'll be right for that or France a week later. Hope thats correct, as we might be in a very tricky position if we have one of the 4 remaining props pick up a slight nigggle which requires a rest before he's available.
Nowell isnt going to be fit either, but i think there's sufficient cover for that.

They felt he was right for Ireland....really don't get why you'd not take an extra prop or 9 instead of keeping an injured Nowell.

I'm wondering now if Nowell's supposed ability to cover 13 is key there, with Slade and Joseph both also having issues. Not that it's anywhere near as key, just might be EJ logic?

Stockpile injured 13s?!?! Sounds like EJ logic to me.

Injury updates
https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/sport/ot ... la-3294642

Mako - ERA 4 weeks
Nowell - ERA 4 WEEKS
Launchbury - sore back - nothing serious
LCD - knock to the knee - nothing serious
JJ - fully training, could have played against Italy but not risked
Slade - "is running" which sounds like about 3-4 weeks away

Assuming those estimates are about right, we are looking at 3 players from the squad unavailable until at best our 3rd game. If we get one or two other players picking up knocks over the next 3/4 weeks the squad is going to be severely stretched.
Seems a bit risky to me.

I think Slade is a lot closer than 3-4 weeks. He was only ruled out of playing the Italy game on the Thursday of last week.

I love that story. "I went into the game with a knee injury, but decided that I was going to play through it, and then I got a worse knee injury on the knee that was already a little injured. Anyway, ban plastic pitches!"

Needed to check something. Farrell's left to right passing. Is that the direction he struggles in? Because it seems like he's left handed?

Really? He’s definitely right footed.

I remember a game in the 6 nations he did a full turn in order to throw a pass towards the right touchline off his right hand. Surprisingly enough it didn’t happen fast enough to catch anyone off guard.

He passes well from right to left, which is the way a right handed player would normally find easier. He kicks right footed, so I'd be surprised if he was left handed.

Mind, I'm right handed and I naturally pass easier from left to right, so it's not a hard and fast rule.

I know a left handed guy who bats left handed, plays golf right handed, and is right footed. It happens.

I write, use scissors, cut meat & veg, and brush my teeth with my left but that's about it I think. Sports, guitar, computer mouse all right-handed/footed. The world is set up by and for righties so my right arm is stronger and my left is for anything dextrous.

I'm left handed and right footed, it's a form of cross-dominance. I seem to recall that it's more common in left-handers than right handers but I may have made that up...

Not sure this is the right thread, but Ben Vellacott is out for 7 months odd with an ACL tear. 7’s the culprit. Heard also the next in line Wasps scrummie has a hammy tear too. Wasps must be hoping Eddie doesn’t call Dan Robson up any time soon, even for the 6N!

Phil Mickelson is right handed.
Darren Gough is left handed, Nadal right handed.

And for those interested I used to be able to kick off either foot albeit with a bias for the right, and I'd jump off the left foot in high jump or long jump, and my father used to write and bowl right handed but bat left handed (if what he did could be described as batting)
