Staying awake?

It’s hard to get any interest going inBiden. In any normal time, he would be a joke and no hoper. Yet when the alternative is Trump.....

Last nights effort:

This is a very brilliant enemy. You know, it’s a brilliant enemy. They develop drugs like the antibiotics. You see it. Antibiotics used to solve every problem. Now one of the biggest problems the world has is the germ has gotten so brilliant that the antibiotic can’t keep up with it.

"And they're constantly trying to come up with a new – people go to a hospital and they catch – they go for a heart operation – that's no problem, but they end up dying from – from problems. You know the problems I'm talking about. There's a whole genius to it."

“We’re fighting – not only is it hidden, but it’s very smart. Okay? It’s invisible and it’s hidden, but it’s – it’s very smart.

Everybody got that? This is but one choice morsel from two hours of incoherent rambling.

In other news, another task force is being formed to manage the economic impact of the current situation, and hash out where to allocate money and relief. Trump's daughter-wife is a part of this task force, presumably due to her vast legislative experience and formal knowledge of economics. If you are an insurance company exec, produce oil, or maybe own a golf course or two, now would be a good time to lobby the shit out of this task force.

To recap, we have:

Jared Kushner overseeing a nation-wide testing regimen, which hasn't actually started yet, and overseeing the allocation of medical equipment and supplies based on his judgement

Ivanka Trump getting the reins to the wagon about to deliver 2 trillion dollars in stimulus money

Mike Pence standing in the corner like a lamp playing pocket billiards

I'm reminded of an earlier musing by Tango Foxtrot One:

Excellent.

Fucking tragic really. Some many people, so little choice. Once agin the Dems have got a candidate whose most obvious sales point is that it’s not Trump.

Trump fired the chap who was going to be in charge of oversight of the $2 trillion stimulus/rescue package to create the space for his daughter wife to take charge, what could go wrong. Though I do like the idea a major political leader thinks antibiotics could help with a virus, it's bad enough when Joe Public has such a retarded view of the world, maybe that's not what he meant and it was only incoherent rambling

In case I'm not the last person on earth to see this, the Netflix series dirty money features an episode on the orange one's son in law called slum lord. I don't have the words to describe just how disgusting of an excuse for a human being he is. If you have Netflix it's worth a watch, prepare to be sickened.

We are doomed.

Can it get any worse? I'd like to see a metric that quantifies this individuals comprehension of the situation. This can't go on. Someone has to take over from him, surely.

Today or tomorrow he will test your jaw limits even further. It’s a matter of time.

This. Or to bring voter suppression back to Wild West ages.

Let rural America vote, but the cities will have to risk contagion to exercise their rights...

Addition: he just tweeted about it, and he seems to suggest that high turnouts are against Republican interest!!! Another low for the office of the President of the United States.
The good news though it would seem is he cannot simply cancel or even delay the election. Which means either they need a way to ensure people can vote, and possibly do that without attending in person or it's disappears down the rabbit hole of the order of succession.

I don't think the electoral college gets a say, but maybe if all the governors sign off on it they're back in the game. But leaving that to one side then the president and VP are both done by January next year and out of office, which kicks it over to the leader of the house except that the house will not have been voted in so Pelosi wouldn't be in congress to be appointed, unless I suppose all the governors agreed to reappoint congress as is. Which kicks it down to the Senate pro-tem, who that is depends on how they reappoint the 1/3 of the Senate seats up for grabs, which I assume is either via state legislator or the governors. Convention has it the longest serving member of the majority, the majority in advance is unknown given I don't know which seats are up for grabs nor what the position is on who'd appoint them, but I suspect in practice if the appointment is to be president it's not going to Chuck Grassley or whoever the Democratic equivalent would be

You fucking know they will. They kicked up a fuss about gun stores not being essential businesses in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and successfully turned over the order so they could stay open. Cos everyone knows gunz kill viruses.

Well you've got to have something to turn to when the antibiotics can't keep up with such a clever virus
