The only thing that makes her even slightly left-leaning is that she "looks like" she smokes pot - which is still right bang centre of libertarianism and again, spans the political spectrum in all ways bar stereotype.

Sorry, forgot about the existence of libertarians for a second, as the two are tied together somewhat here, plus over here the liberals...aren't generally very liberal, lol.

But I know a lot of people who look like that. I wouldn't think that she was a pot smoker first, because, well, anyone can be a pot smoker, but that she's someone who buys organic, doesn't vaccinate, etc.

I've been surprised by this combination of characteristics recently. Someone I know is a home educator, anti-vacc and I would generally have said she was fairly hippyish. But then I was surprised to see her justifying her anti-vacc and anti-WHO views with reference to Fox News and some even more far-right media. But it may be that I just don't know her well enough, and she's not a hippy at all, she's actually an extreme libertarian (without much scientific background).

It recently turns out that a lot of people I thought were liberal are actually rather extreme fascists, really. They only want their own freedom, not anyone else. I think it's because of the way the world has been going. There's a "me, me, me" attitude among many groups around the world.

The person I mentioned is convinced that her only child's illnesses (although she doesn't seem particularly ill to me...) are caused by malevolent forces such as 5G, vaccines, all manner of chemicals in the environment, etc. It must be very stressful to think that everything is poisonous without much scientific knowledge to make sense of it all.
