Wyn Jones out. Sutherland gets the start.
Awful luck for Jones.

On a flipping ferry and the wireless internet is shite. The ideal end to three week trip to see the in-laws...

The refs a bit rubbish, isn’t he? Very inconsistent. Daly worse, though, surprise, surprise.

Yeah he’s looked awful shaky. Some strange decisions in both directions.
Lions errors seem to have taken a bit of momentum out of the lions in the last 10.

We’re shunt. And it’s a really boring match, too, but as Garland seems to want to badly emulate Exeter…
Honestly, I’m not bothering with the second half, I don’t have any emotional involvement, which is a bit sad…

SA 12 - 3 Lions
Don't want to be giving kickable pens. to Pollard, especially when you're not creating much yourself.
Stuttering start.

Lions yet to fire a shot. SA pretty comfortable. The game is as flat as a pancake.

Some action at last. LCD over, 12 - 10.
SA riposte but Jonker gives the nod for Lions...good egg.

Hopefully the acclaimed Lions fitness will find more gaps..bit like du Toit.

Line-out/Maul again, ..Biggar bags the points.

Interesting to see SA response to swing.

Cheer up, old boy. The second half is compelling.

Farrell is incapable of assessing what is in front of him. Lions forwards have shut the Boks down second half. So it's tennis from here on out.

3 on-field try decisions for SA, 1 awarded. TMO keeps things sweet for now.

‘Farrell wins first Lions test with ice man kick’.
Compelling game. The pub in Norwich delivered.

Was so excited to watch this game, but that was a shit test match. What's the point of lining up all those quality backs (on both sides) if they never get to run and pass the ball. I'm all for epic forwards battles but for fucks sake once you get over the gain line spread the ball now and then.

He truly packed 80 minutes worth of kicking in to that 20-25 minutes.

After a damp squid of a 1st half, I'm pleasantly surprised with the 2nd.
I thought the Boks didn't seem as fit as the Lions as the 2nd half wore on and that bodes well for the next week's decider!
On the downside was some shocking panic passing by the Lions that should have been punished.

Oddly their replacement front row from SA made no impact on either the starting front row and subs.
Not sure what the issue was in the first half. At times the SA scrum engaged and the ball was in. It was never really set so not sure if that was it or not.
