This is the best post on here in a very long time.

Pleased for Oghre, that's a good signing for Tigers.
Oghre has only joined on a short term deal. Perhaps a necessity with available cap.

Ali Crossdale and Brad Shields could make their débuts for Perpignan on Saturday afternoon in the match against Bordeaux/Bègles.
Similarly, Dan Robson for Pau at home to Brive.
I wonder if Jack Willis has been allowed to go to Toulouse after Eddie inexplicably omitted him from the squad for the Boks.

Does that mean Crossdale and Shields could be playing against Tom Willis all on debut?

I’d forgotten about Tom? Yes, so we’ll keep an eye open when the teams are announced.

- Bath close to finalising deal to sign Finn Russell from Racing 92 as marquee player. Would be a stunning coup for the West Country club and also the troubled Premiership as a whole, to have a new box-office asset.
Just seen this. Is there anyone Bath wont be signing up?

Then I wouldn’t be surprised if Racing were to sign Matthieu Jalibert from Bordeaux/Bègles!

I'll believe it when I see it.
Otherwise, it's just the normal contract renewal talk by agents to up someone's price tag.
JvG and Finn Russell... doesn't exactly sound like a natural meeting of minds.

Has Lawrence got any Scottish relatives and when did he get his last cap? Could be a handy midfield.

Not a clue on any Celtic grandparents, but his last cap was 4th July 2021. We're good for a bit.

There was a rumour about Beauden Barrett heading to Racing a while back….

Yes, there was, but I’ve not heard anything recently, so maybe that rumour is dying.

It's probably wise - in Sheedy and MacGinty, Lam's got two fly-halves who are usually wanted for international periods, so it's a good idea to get someone in who's not likely to be picked.

You're assuming that there won't be a change of coach post world cup.

Didn’t Lam sign some kind of mega deal a little while ago when Bristol we’re doing well? I would have thought a change would come at a big cost.

Yeah - I think he's still got about 5 years left on that. I think FKAS was referring to my allusion to Gregor Townsend not picking Russell though.

Yeah I was thinking that Townsend might not last past the world cup if he insists on dropping his best player and results go against him.

Former Tigers' fly half, Zack Henry, who now plays for Pau, is apparently close to signing for Stade Français

I’d forgotten about Tom? Yes, so we’ll keep an eye open when the teams are announced.
Dan Robson will be on the bench for Pau v Brive tomorrow afternoon, and Brad Shields and Tom Willis have been selected as replacements for Perpignan and Brive respectively for their match on Saturday afternoon.
The Toulouse side for their match away to Lyon on Sunday has not yet been announced, so we don't know if Jack Willis will be in the squad.
Watch this space!
