Mexico is going to pay for the wall though, they're not telling you that but it's true, a fat orange man said so.

What is up with the Village people soundtrack at these gigs?

Mars is definitely a current priority though. Absolutely divert resources for that.

To land on Mars before mid January 2025, the rocket has to take off about 22 months before. And that is without me checking the orbits and relative distances. It could be more, not much less.

NASA doesn’t have a spaceship to support human life for over 2 years, or the rocket to launch that type of payload. In fact, NASA plan to have a permanent base on the moon and launch from there to Mars (although that info is just over 2 years old, but I haven’t heard or read anything else).

I hope they will not launch a bunch of MAGAs willing to die in space to own the libs.

Man, imagine the bullshit technology you could get money up front for before doing one as things fall apart. Just insist on dealing only with Donnel and Kushner.

"We have developed an ultra-efficient and tremendously powerful fuel made from coal and ethanol that has been tested in Nascar. Many people say they are very happy with it. All we need is 10-20 million to modify the existing flux capacitor on the Space-X Falcon 9 so that it can run in series with dilithium crystals. If we plan the route to initiate at night, there will be an at least 20 mile per gallon fuel saving, and we can use that extra fuel to power a strong pyrotechnic display on the Martian surface. It will make fantastic TV and the ratings will be through the roof".

We will reach 0.7 warp speed. We will go where no man has gone before. Space, the final frontier.

Mars? Hey since we're totally making stuff up here, no consequences, why not say Andromeda?

No wait, Tatooine's better. People will have heard of that.

Trump has defended himself against Woodward releasing Trump saying things in Trump's own words as a political hit job. He hasn't yet called himself a loser but it can only be a matter of time until he claims he's never met himself.

A perfect example of why just shouting that you've done a load of stuff and not really paying attention to any of the details is often a pretty good tactic.

It's still a big concern Biden doesn't actually have any selling points beyond "I'm not Trump" that will sway people in this way. I don't think blathering on about 'decency' counts.

Fucking hell. Committing to reducing the debt. He had record added debt even before the pandemic hit. Tax cuts and spunking on his fence. "He's made China or Japan pay our farmers billions of dollars". No cloth ears, you are paying for the tarriffs and your taxes have bailed out the farmers millions of dollars. I can' wait to see how much Prince Jared and his band of Merry Hedge Fund babies have spent on PPE that never got delivered, hydroxychloroquine, and nifty apps that have never been implemented. I'm sure the DOJ has used a fair bit of tax coin for ridiculous litigation at the whim of Trump's many and continual personal grievances.

Just to day I read that the government owes the postal service $4.6 million for postcards that were sent out in March with "President Trump's COVID Guidelines (complete with signature).

Isn't it just easier for concrete boy to say, "I don't like people that aren't white".

Not being Trump is a huge selling point, especially in a 2 candidates competition where the other is Trump. It works for me.

However I know he is talking manufacturing jobs in the rust belt, healthcare is starting to pop up, and “decency” is key with independents and disaffected republicans.

According to concrete boy, healthcare has already been sorted.

It surely doesn’t get people out to vote in the same way as actually believing in something though? A lot of people think Trump will (continue to) make a positive difference to their lives, for whatever reason.

I don’t know what Biden is doing to appeal to the people who don’t know/care/realise they are being perpetually fucked by Trump/Miller and the GOP. Simply harking back to the good old Obama days won’t do much for people who still weren’t spoken for in that period, or felt duped once they saw the ethical standards they actually stood for.

I’m sure Biden can swing a lot of republicans, and maybe that will be enough, but I’m not seeing what he’s offering to those who have lost any conviction that government can improve their lives.

Maybe the facade of decency is enough, who knows.

Americans are conditioned to be terrified of any meaningful change that might benefit society as a whole. This pandemic has made it very clear that universal health care is needed in this country, for example, but anyone suggesting it gets shouted down as a raging rabid socialist, if not an actual (*gasp*) communist. Its pathetic but is a very difficult barrier to breach. The whole political landscape here is so socially conservative under the umbrella of "My Freedumb". It's like an evolutionary dead end. I don't know how many more old white men that stubbornly adhere to as low a tax rate as possible and no social safety net being the answer to all problems there can possibly be left.

AR-15s for all? Yay...it's our constitutional right after all. God wants us to have guns.

Universal healthcare for all? No way! It's just not right or fair.

Are you planning to leave if Trump wins again? Or do you feel you have a duty to keep the sanity level up, if only by one person's-worth?

Where the fuck am I going to go? I am from a single parent family, with that parent living in Oz, I don't own any property back home (which is a total rip off property wise), and I would effectively put the handbrake on a career that would be extremely difficult to continue with in NZ. I don't want to go to Oz because they would probably deport me for an unpaid parking ticket from 1992 or something. I would also not be too happy with myself exercising such privilege when so many people are stuck in the shit here. I am definitely planning to retire somewhere that is not USandA, but that is a way off yet. The timeline could accelerate but...

Covid 19 with go away very quickly with the vaccine, apparently, but also, "It would go away without the vaccine, George. With time it goes away and you’ll develop like a herd mentality. It’s gonna be herd developed, that’s gonna happen. It's herd mentality.”

I think he'll just be pleased he narrowly managed to avoid saying "turd mentality". Step 2 will either be - deny having said 'mentality', despite video evidence - or - claim that herd mentality is a different thing entirely that somebody smart told him about and nobody else is aware of.

Of course there are options, but is it would be starting from scratch. I'm in the biomedical research field, which is very topical at the moment, but neither industry nor academia are really looking to splurge on new hires and expand their programs right at the present. I'm not that big a catch. There is a recession coming everywhere. Maybe NZ will get it's act together and finally legalise Cannabis and I can start growing medicinal weed on the West Coast of the South Island.

Why not just hop north of the border, then? They're definitely fully paid up members of the legalize movement... Did some work for a grow box company from Canada.

We're also putting plans in place for escaping the central European Trump. Problem is...there aren't actually many countries left in the world without idiotic leaders that aren't too bloody cold or on the other side of the bloody planet.
