That's part of what makes it a shame. With a fair shot I think Fraser could have been pushing for 1st choice match day 23. SHC needs to get over the 2nd season blues, Kennedy has been patchy and Fowles is gash.

Most of those calls are spot on but Hugh Fraser is a massive mistake for both parties. Good enough to feature for Edinburgh and the last thing Scottish need is a scrum half.

Been around for a while but only had 2 years as a non EDP I think.

So, many peoples fears regarding Finns injury have been confirmed. He is set to miss the start of the season.

That was announced as most likely a month or two ago.

That's deeply concerning. Let's hope he makes a full recovery and that Glasgow take their time with him and save him from himself.

It isn't old news that he still isn't training. It isn't old news that there's no immediate prospect of him doing the sort of hard training that you'd expect him to do in pre-season. i'd assumed if he were starting the season late that it would be because he'd missed a bit of pre-season and they wanted him to have a full one, not that he can't yet even do hard running with a only a couple of weeks to go before warm up games start. If all of that was in the public domain then I'd clearly missed it.

I'd agree with that. The fact he was moved to a specialist neurosurgical hospital said enough IMO.

People seem to think that pro sportsmen have no right to patient confidentiality.

Why bother with injury announcements, timescales & diagnoses at all then.

We know it was a heid and puss injury. It doesn't particularly matter whether the facial damage was a broken orbital bone or the head injury severe concussion. Its not unknown for injuries to be fairly vaguely reported in some cases, like a "lower leg injury" or "upper thigh" for example.

If there were long term concerns other than the standard ones rugby players have there is little chance Glasgow/the SRU would let him near the pitch.

in terms of the start of the season it means they are relying on Clegg, Horne, Hogg and the Kiwi. Which should be fine.

You're right. In fact I've revised my opinion to be that absolutely every facet of a players medical history should be disclosed to the general public, you know, because this is the modern world and due to the Internet we have more rights than the player and that should supercede any confidentiality reasons the player has.

Jonny was always going to be learning on the job, but he did it well. This seems more about Pyrgos also being a very experienced thinker in the squad, having them work (officially) in tandem is no bad thing.

Yeah, DSD kinda bombed that. Either way, a much closer game than I expected, plenty of good to work on. Hughes, Dunbar and Grigg all injured though, the latter stretchered off with paramedics getting involved too. Hope it was just precautionary for all 3.

If their protocols are anything like ours, then Grigg will be in a bad way. The crew are there for the crowd and are only to go on field if it's bad.
