Gary Graham of the Falcons has been called up to the England training camp. Yes... George Graham's son and a previous Scotland U20 cap.
I can only assume that Jones has viewed the Harris & Hamilton call-ups as provocation and is trying to make a scene. The fact that GG isn't international class also fuels my view.

Was Hamilton EQ through parentage?hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Gary Graham of the Falcons has been called up to the England training camp. Yes... George Graham's son and a previous Scotland U20 cap.

I assume so as he's only had 2 seasons at Leicester and I read that he qualified for Eng, Sco & Wales.Big D wrote:Was Hamilton EQ through parentage?hugh_woatmeigh wrote:Gary Graham of the Falcons has been called up to the England training camp. Beeb story suggesting England looking at "developing" Vellacott..Big D wrote:Visser, Tait, Denton, Maitland and Vellacott all SQ scorers today.

As they should to be fair. He's a quality prospect and is English born.Tobylerone wrote:Beeb story suggesting England looking at "developing" Vellacott..Big D wrote:Visser, Tait, Denton, Maitland and Vellacott all SQ scorers today.
SRU should have offered him a contract straight from the Glos academy. Although the may have tbf.

You might want to think again about him after that score by Bath

Shite the bed?Which Tyler wrote:You might want to think again about him after that score by Bath
I’ve not seen him since the hair cut, but if he no longer looks like Clare Balding he’s fucking dead to me.

Just a tad, and that one will make the highlights, the sort of try to give a tight 5 forward wet dreamsEdinburgh in Exile wrote:Shite the bed?Which Tyler wrote:You might want to think again about him after that score by Bath

Re: Scots Abroad VIII (or let's spot the new messiah)
I’m torn. Just the fact he is fit makes me want him back in the side as his carrying (at his best) would be invaluable. But is he just too much of a scatterbrain to play Townsend’s game?

Yes, he is.Mikey Brown wrote:I’m torn. Just the fact he is fit makes me want him back in the side as his carrying (at his best) would be invaluable. But is he just too much of a scatterbrain to play Townsend’s game?
Met him at an Edinburgh open evening and asked him if he had any tackling advice for my youngest. After a why's-that-even-a-question look he said "just smash them". Youngest took that to heart in a really good way, so I've loads of respect for the guy, but he's a Haskell-type blindside, and he's going to be competing against the likes of Ritchie and Bradbury once Barclay's no longer the first-choice 6. On form, he's a decent option at 6, but we still really need someone with the skills to play 8.
(though England have done okay just picking big lumps...)

He’d run into someone between the bench and the touchline.General Zod wrote:A mere blip. He will come off the bench to score the winning try against england.

In reality - Denton had a lot of development still to do at 24/25. He was signed by Bath off the back of that one RWC performance in Nov/Dec.
I'm not quite sure what the next step is, he's certainly not going to develop the skills required to be a top 8 at Worcester. Does feel a lot like wasted potential.

Or has he got the most out of limited talent?hugh_woatmeigh wrote:In reality - Denton had a lot of development still to do at 24/25. He was signed by Bath off the back of that one RWC performance in Nov/Dec.

Well I just watched the Wuss/Bath highlights to see his try, which he takes well enough, but he misses a tackle for every single Bath try. Gets turned over for one of them too. Oh dear.
Strauss also seems unable to stay fit or make the Sale team.

Good win for Jon Welsh’s Newcastle v Exeter today.
