I think they're right on that - he's done extraordinarily well to get as high as he has on the back of being Mayor of South Bend, but he does need some relevant experience if he's going to be a sensible candidate going forward. He also needs to find some way to make himself attractive to black voters in the South, otherwise his next primary campaign is going to end the same way his first one did.gransoporro wrote:A quick note on Pete Buttigieg.
People “in the know” ( that is, they may over claim their inside knowledge, but I know they are well informed in general) told me he is auditioning for Secretary of State. That is the cabinet seat he covets. But he may end up somewhere else: both he and “the power that be” think he needs a cabinet position to grow his political ambitions.
And that he is on Fox also to prepare for his next presidential run in 4 or 12 years. Yes, Biden, if elected, is not expected to seek a second term.
I won't be surprised if Biden doesn't seek a second term (gods willing that he's able to get the first) - he'll be 82 and the pressure of the job ages every President who're smart enough to understand it. I think Kamala will be in the box seat though as presumptive incumbent.
