Both Waller brothers will be retiring at the the of the season. With Lawes off too - that'll be no one left from the Prem winning season in the Saints playing squad. Hopefully we can use that as motivation for this last part of the season...

I imagine there will be some signings to be announced in this area following the retirement announcements, but haven't seen any rumours

Surprised to hear Ethan's going as well as Alex - very young to retire. They've been good, solid clubmen and I wish them both a happy retirement. Good opportunity for Haffar and Iyogun to step up, although you'd've thought Saints would need another loosehead coming in to provide depth.

Wow, surprising Ethan has looked to retire as well.

Saints were linked with Tom West last month, very much makes sense now. I'd drive Cronin down to Northampton if they'll take him off our hands.

I've often wondered whether either of the Waller Bros. ever acquired the nickname of "Fats". Never heard it in commentary.

Duncan Paia’aua is allegedly looking at the options of leaving Toulon, as his partner lives in London. Do we know of a London based club that's just lost their marquee inside centre?

Wouldn't blame him, he's not getting a fair shot under McKellar. He's a good scrum but a very different style to Randall which will be interesting to see how that works with the Bears.

Just grumpy he didn't join us, but can hardly blame him.

You never know he might return on loan.

I was going to make a sarcastic comment about this being the wrong thread for NFL stuff, but I've just realised I'm more than halfway serious given that he's likely buggered off permanently. If you want to talk about an NFL rookie who may've played rugby in the past, please go here: viewtopic.php?t=4551&start=350

The above nudge appeared not to have helped, so I farmed the discussion off into a new thread and put it on the Other Sports forum: http://rugbyrebels.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=6848

Be interesting to see how he gets on. The WMB are already talking about selecting him for the summer tour! Rugbypass seem to think that Glaws are sniffing around to poach him, but I can't imagine there's much truth there - apart from anything else you'd hope he'd feel some kinship with Bath after they helped him get right.

Yeah, the Welsh are desperate for him to be a big success - I hope they don't cap him before he's proven himself (and if he does, not before he's signed a long enough contract at Bath to get around Gatland's Law).
What would make me most happy, is if he DOES prove himself at Bath, and has a look at Gatlands law, and says "sod that" and declares for England.

Glos probably did sniff around, losing Zammit, May and IIRC, another wing - but probably mostly to keep Bath's offer honest.

Antoine Dupont is the next rugby player tempted to try his luck in the NFL.
After his success with the French 7s team in Los Angeles, NFL star Tom Brady has persuaded him to take the leap, from next season according to the above article, which also says that he'll not stop playing Top14 for Toulouse.
Hmmm. we'll see!
