I'm sure he would have applauded the way that the internet and web are being used today. For much too long corporate and government-controlled media were able to brainwash society. Eastern Europeans used to joke that at least they knew they were being lied to. But many in the West did not. America's wars in East Asia were presented to the West as tragic heroism, for example, when they were nothing more than genocidal rampages based on pure hatred and racism - the same racial hatred which saw them drop atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki when the Japanese were already beaten and offering terms of surrender. Thanks to the net and web America has not been able to fool anyone as it repeats its hideous crimes across the Middle East, carrying out illegal and genocidal invasions, some of which are approaching two decades in duration, and which have collectively killed millions, wounded, crippled, bereaved, traumatized, dispossessed and disenfranchised many millions more. They have not been able to disguise their liaisons with terrorist states such as Saudi and Israel, and terrorist networks largely of their own creation. Even now they are bombing weddings, schools, hospitals and funerals in Yemen alongside Saudi and with the same terrorist proxies which served them in Syria. America has done to the Middle East what the Nazis did to Europe and the British did to Africa, and this time the whole world knows it. That's why the right-wing redneck brigade is so incensed. Outright war on Syria could not be declared because even Americans had become aware that the destruction of Iraq had been based on a pack of lies. So they tried a more subtle approach, sending in the proxies and arming the terrorists, but their copious propaganda was countered at every turn by the alternative media and courageous journalists such as Seymour Hersh and Robert Fisk. & let us not forget Julian Assange, of course, who not only exposed American war crimes but former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton heinous plans to add Libya to the list of nations the US and its allies have utterly destroyed. & to think, some people would still have preferred this vile war criminal in office to a man who, for all his arrogance, rudeness, sexism and racism (like, invading Middle East countries is not all of those and more) had at least pledged to withdraw support for the rebels/terrorists in Syria, make peace with the Russians, and allow the conflict to finally end (Clinton's agenda was conversely warmongering). And on this count he has delivered. Mashallah!
