I would imagine that an East wind were you are has entirely different properties to an East wind where I am. Right now it's from the WSW here, which is our default standard, meaning mild (7C, virtually no difference day or night) and damp at this time of year. Straight off the Gulf stream, so Trump's to blame.

6 inches and counting. Everyone bailed at work, so I took off and hauled the dogs to the woods for some skids and general arseing about in snow. I'll bet trump isn't shoveling his driveway, the fat cunt.

Bit of a mixed weekend there for sure..though looks like normal February Sat. night attire for Geordies...
I believe NE states in US is more fickle at this time..late spring flowers then a 30' slam.

So this was the 2nd warmest winter in the past 47 years. No snow, didn't use the heating once, long pants stayed in the drawer 8-)

I'm just worried about summer now :?

Don't be too worried, it's unlikely to snow then either.

We got hail last summer though (possibly early autumn). Never seen anything like it. I've been in some storms in my time but this was probably the worst (incidentally tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of the Wahine disaster). I set out for work in summery weather, a few clouds on the horizon but nothing particularly threatening, and about halfway there a freak storm just arrived out of nowhere. My umbrella was destroyed in seconds, and though I reached the safety of the nearest cafe within minutes I was pretty well saturated. That's last year's storm I'm talking about, not the Wahine disaster, which was a little before my time and I wasn't born in Wellington anyway. Just to clarify.

9100 POSTS

I should reach the 10,000 milestone by summer 8-)

Don't see how anybody can catch me, at this point. It's been hard work, and not without its trials and tribulations. But onward and upward, the journey must continue, into uncharted territory

Meanwhile, it's a public holiday tomorrow and I see that temperatures are supposed to hit high 20s 8-) 8-)

My hunch is that this is not at the forefront of anyone's mind in this establishment...you can probably relax a little
and enjoy some chill time...try Torquay, sounds like Turkey but not as hot and certainly more genteel. :)

Maintaining current velocity I am scheduled to arrive at the 10,000 POSTS milestone some time around July 19. This allowing for standard turbulence and extreme density (invariably encountered on the political forum),neither of which are likely to prevent the realization of this historic achievement. :ugeek:

This rare milestone was known as the 'tenko' for lurk purposes on ScrumV..not to be confused with the tv drama of the same name you will be familiar with from 20th century military conflicts and louise jameson related research.
It is unfortunate free membership on this forum was capped at 10K posts with a nominal fee to continue or voluntary cessation of posting for 6 months...i'm sure the admins. will fill you in. 8-)

Does that nominal fee come with full rights to the senior members' lounge? I expect free drinks, discounts on all goods and services, various other privileges, and more free drinks.

Certainly you will be eligible, but invitation to the inner sanctum follows a secret ballot of those members, and a single black-ball means no joy. They consider mostly if applicants are of the 'right sort' and take into account things such as political leanings, relevant rugby and wider sports knowledge, tastes in music and the arts, sense of humour and attitudes around gender and sexuality.
I wish you luck with that, but be careful what you wish for - there has been no sight nor sound of at least 3 newly inducted members in recent years.

and be prepared for the goat..

Sounds like the synopsis for an Umberto Eco novel :? Anyway, I'm cool with hermaphrodites, punk rockers, anarchists, toe wrestling, weird humor, Blues rugby fans and obscure Latin phrases. Just so long as they serve caveat - and cui bonos for the dog - & plenty of free drinks, of course...

Well I hear the Carpe diem is quite tasty, cheap too at only a quid pro quo. If you are persona non grata, you'll get the cheese in large slices.

'Ne'er cast a clout till May be out'.
(clout = old word for a piece of clothing.)
..'May' either refers to the month, or most likely the May flower (hawthorn) which flowers in late April/early May.
so we're ok to party.. :geek:
