Fair enough. I get your point, although I think Biggar was only ever intended to be a dirt tracker, barring an injury. Im not entirely sure that Gatland ever wanted to play Faz and Sexton together - this feels more like a hit and hope selection than a genuine strategy.
I must be one of the few (sais) who see beyond his diving and moaning and actually rate Biggar as a player, very good skill set. Bet he could play flat pretty well if allowed to.
Not many people in Wales rate his attacking prowess.
Russell should have been selected for this tour.
Different type of players in fairness. I think Biggar somewhat under-rated as an all round player; I'd also like to see him play flat.

This tour is about the flattest I've ever seen him play, he doesn't really fit into what we expect from a 10, little to no flair, no running threat, doesn't attack the gainline. He does the basics well and his defence is quite good and he's good at catching up and unders, but that's about it really, a reliable back up, I would have far preferred Russell as he has a point of difference.

and he's played well on the tour, perhaps there is something in that, then. As I said, and you agree, they are different. But the coach decided otherwise, that's his plan.
I'm not really talking about his selection tbh, just that he has gone well.

Garryowens aren't a mistake if the other side drops the ball, as England have found at in Cardiff and Dublin, but to keep doing it is a lot of work for the chasers and people filling in where the chasers were. More kicking to the corner isn't really an option unless you can bring up the coverage, which will be tricky if the defence is happy to slide off Farrell, actually given the 10 and 12 if they want to kick for the corners one might find it easier to pick Webb over Murray to at least give the inside defence some pause for thought before focusing on JD
Its all about the flow of the game and adjusting your tactics to suit. Early on Ben Smith was struggling and of the first 4-5 Garryowens, the Lions won back 3-4 of them. While its working you should keep at it.
The problem was as soon as Smith went off and Barrett and Dagg started fielding them, the ABs looked rock solid and all the Grryowens did was turn the ball over. At that point the captain needed to have a word to Murray, or he should work it out for himself, that the tactics need to change.
Have to say I quite rate Biggar. Has some limitations but never hides and puts himself on the line. Never goes missing like some fly halves do. Also think he has looked pretty good on this tour. That said not a patch on Priestland when he was in that purple patch of form. Wales looked so much more threatening back then.

C) Watson and Daly are the fastest players in Britain and Ireland.
Is Mike Brown third quickest?
I'm pretty sure his sprint training with Margot Wells has made him the quickest ever, no?
He really did seem to gain a yard of pace after working with her. Although I like to think of myself as his biggest non fan he looked so much better when he came back into the England fold at 15. Granted since around 2015 he has looked past it but fair play to the angry chav who worked at it and came back. James Haskell is still shite and a prick though.
All the focus in this sky build up is on the lions licking options at 9, 10, 12... which kinda says everything about our chances of creating a victory by actually playing rugby

It was so much easier to blame Them. It was bleakly depressing to think They were Us. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
