Minute 55

Scotland win the lineout and two phases towards the open side losing contact both times. Price switches interest to the shortside and even Cummings wins a collision, just, but it's a thing. Scotland run a phase just for something to do and possibly to widen the shortside again and then load the blindside and attack that way but Watson spills the ball in contact with George

Minute 56

England push hard in the scrum and win a penalty. The scrum only just crept into the minute's play, and this minute saw about 2 minutes of the clock being stopped so the front row could adjust their jockstraps

Minute 57

Daly runs across to take a penalty on the right touchline and promptly sticks a short kick into touch, the mice and their plans eh!

England win the lineout with Itoje, not seen as much from Itoje in the lineout after he perhaps got a little carried away against France

Minute 58

England drive the maul against some strong opposition and make a few metres, Heinz breaks down the shortside and loses the ball on the floor and/or in contact. Kinghorn kicks the ball down the middle of the pitch, it's a meh kick at best, Ford pings a nice kick back bar it's toward the right touchline and goes out on the full, bet he wishes his kick had risen to the heights of meh!

Minute 59

Scotland lose yet another lineout. Didn't catch what happened as from the picture shown the ball is between the camera an the floodlights, or maybe that's God frowning down at the Scottish lineout, Youngs puts up a box kick, normally people would scream that's landing 15m infield you idiot but on this instance we're pleased with that result.

Kinghorn with the ball for Scotland and he doesn't do anything bad, but he's caught by Underhill running sideways, when his forwards are losing contact and he's a big lad, you just want him to pump the knees and say you can tackle me but it's going to hurt and try to get his forwards going forwards

Hastings with the up and under which Maitland chases, gets underneath and drops. It's a super hard skill in those conditions but that was maybe a chance for Maitland, he'd probably have been in behind Furbank and in a footrace with Curry

Minute 60

England win ball at their scrum, pass to Daly to kick down the left touchline, and Daly sticks it out on the full. We've swapped touchlines I suppose, it might even be comedy, or farce

Minute 61

Itoje gets up and across Gray to tap the ball down to Youngs, yet another lost lineout for Scotland, and Youngs sends the ball to George (well just behind George but close enough)

Youngs kicks from the base of the ruck George sets up/ I think ideally Maitland would keep running and take the ball on the full but judging the wind can make a fool of a good read out there, and the ball bounces into touch just over halfway

Scotland win a lineout, their front pod goes backwards and a player peels around into the hole at the front to take a flat low throw, this one making it 5m. Scotland set a ruck and wait for their 9 to kick downfield

Minute 62

Price does make a kick, it heads down the line to the England 10m line and then blows back the other way a couple of metres heading into touch

England win the lineout maul a couple of metres and then Youngs makes another box kick down just outside the Scotland 22, about 15m in and Maitland catches the ball which is decent out there.

Minute 63

Maitland shielded by a couple of blue shirts makes a few metres, but Itjoe tackling him from behind causes the ball to shoot loose on England's side. England can't gain possession, scrum White

That only takes seconds, as it's a scrum nothing else happens

Minute 64

England win a scrum penalty. England were clearly waiting for the penalty, and then probably shouldn't have as Curry and Underhill should have been able to put huge pressure on the Scottish line if they'd just played the ball, but Curry on goes after the whistle

Minute 66

Farrell isn't far over the time from when we indicated a shot at goal, but it is over. Genge causes mirth holding the ball on the wrong side, Faz misses a tough kick. Maybe a bit too tough to take on.

Scotland drop out up the middle, May lets it bounce gathers and runs into contact, ball back to Sinckler who runs into contact

Minute 67

Youngs puts up a box kick, kicking much more infield like Scotland. Kinghorn knocks on under some pressure from England, but massive pressure from the conditions.

Minute 68

First scrum results in a reset, second goes down but the ball is playable. Youngs back to Ford who stood just behind the 10m line sinks a kick into space behind the Scotland press and outside the 22 drawing the back three players up

Minute 69

The ball rather skips on and Hogg leaves hoping it'll go ingoal, but then suddenly he's in front of one of the posts and just manages to carry over dotting the ball down with his stomach for a 5m scrum to England

Minute 70

England get the ball back in the scrum, but Youngs does have to reach in to retrieve. Scrum was just left of centre but Laws was notionally on the open side, probably more tellingly he was behind the THP, Earl over behind Genge.

England bring the ball out to Farrell and he runs a hard line trying to draw in Scottish defenders on their left. England don't gain quick ball, and might not have gone right again anyway. Initially not enough Scotland forwards are working around, and then Watson rather than working around goes in at the side , and in from the wrong side where England are gathering for a pick and go, and really Watson doesn't do enough to justify taking out a defender.

Genge picks up and drives, and with support from a number of others crashes (flops) over the line for a try

Scotland kick off up the middle, May catches and it's a ruck

Minute 72

Youngs passes to a deep lying Ford, but with the wind Ford still launches a return back up the middle that finds gras just into Scotland's 22

Hogg kicks very low back up the middle, the ball evading any number of legs it might have struck, there's low and there's grubbers from one 22 to another. England kick it back but straight to Kinghorn who takes on the full. Again Kinghorn doesn't make the ground you'd want, he doesn't even win contact though it is against Sinckler. Scotland possibly have a man over on the shortside (though the defence will sweep around) and try to exploit that, it's well defended by JJ though. Harris waits as long as he dares in the conditions drawing in JJ, May doesn't bite in on Bradbury but stays on Hogg on the outside and JJ turns and chases down Bradbury

Ball back to Toolis, fresh on a as a big lock, he runs at Sincks and he's the second person in a matter of moments not to win contact. Sincks is playing deep into the match after a 6 day rest and winning 2 contact tackle moments in the 72nd minute, the 2nd against a fresh lock, partly it deserves a medal, partly thank god we've learned from grinding Cole into the ground.

Scotland work back to the shortside and now Earl is dominating a tackle. Now to Berghan, he's stopped on the gainline, but then falls to earth gaining 50cm on the flop part of the tackle, I'd take a pop but it's another tackle in the same minute from Sinckler, just a monster effort from a tighthead who carries, passes and works hard on the chase.

Scotland pass back to Hastings (I think but the number is coming off the shirt) and he runs back to the shortside before sending a pass to Hogg that's so behind Hogg the minute ends with Scotland chasing back to gather their own pass.

Hard to see a route into the game for Scotland, kicking is unreliable at best, they can't carry into contact and the set piece is under big pressure

Minute 73

Scotland do at least wrangle the ball back their side, but in the end they have to kick the pill away, Mill spills the ball but backwards and Furbank gathers. Youngs box kicks down the pitch around 15m in, Ritchie can't take the ball and it shoots towards Scotland'sleft touchline, JJ tries to hack on but Dell gets down to the ball and makes a couple of metres before setting a ruck.

Minute 74

Price puts up a box kick, England set about running back to reclaim only to realise yet again the ball is blowing back to the Scots. May gets a hand to it and slaps it backwards but the ball is gathered by Harris for Scotland. No real blame there, nobody knew where that was coming down.

Price looks to make a more attacking box kick down the touchline, and Scotland have a decent chase going after the ball, but flirting with the touchline only result in the wind pushing the ball out on the full.

Minute 75

England win the lineout, Youngs kicks, Kinghorn spills the ball. England run a phase which sees Ford trying to find space to dance through, he's not bad on his feet and Farrell is there to help push him through contact and to the ground. Youngs passes from the base to a hard running Earl. Earl gets the ball back but under some pressure Youngs picks and goes nowhere as McInally puts him down, but we end the minute with the ball in the middle of the park just outside the Scotland 22

Well the kicks comes at 76:33 so it's a smidge over the allotted time, but the boos can be ignored on this one as Gauzere does go and speak to Farrell during his minute for the kick about controlling his team, and for me the ref needs to be more switched on than that, though I'm sure he's miserably cold too.

Scotland kick off up the middle, May catches and a ruck forms. Launch ( I think) is pinged for going off feet. In itself not an especially harsh call, but it's not been the standard

Minute 79

England try to waste time, Gauzere tells them he's stopped the clock, quite right too.

England kick off into the 22, Scotland boot it back and Curry allows it to bounce tells Furbank it's his and carries into contact, again winning a collision. Youngs kicks down just outside the Scotland 22, Hastings has the ball and JJ and Ford try to hold him up but Hastings part flings and part drops the ball back on his side, Ford not being an expert on scrum turnover tackles. And the ball is with Scotland
