That is just spectacular bullshit. George does change the dynamics, but not by enough that Farrell wasn't always hitting him in the face and not by enough that Farrell is not shoulder-charging with a tucked arm in a reckless and upright manner.

How the hell does two players cracking heads result in a red card and that active attempt to bosh someone, that resulted in the victim getting taken off with a concussion, get downgraded to a yellow. Utter bullshit.

Well, that's somewhat surprising. I don't think anyone saw that coming! Seems an utterly bizarre decision!

Total bollocks, but unfortunately not entirely unpredictable. The disciplinary process of rugby union in this country continues to be laughably inconsistent

That has also just fecked the bunker system. 10 minutes to make a 'wrong' decision.

Did I read somewhere that the review panel consisted of three Australians? If so they've stitched us up again.

That decision brings the game into disrepute.

That is suprising given his history (which PR has kindly put together for us here: https://www.planetrugby.com/news/a-clos ... us-tackles).

Having said that, disciplinary folks have all the camera angles, time to review, interviews etc. ... but still.

I guess we should never be surprised when these panels come up with decisions that leave you scratching your head. This one is right up there. Its plain wrong.

Oh well. I didn't want to watch the world cup anyway. Might as well find something more interesting to do instead.

This is especial bullshit, as the IRB's framework says that mitigation from a red to a yellow is not available if it is an "always illegal action" like, for example, hitting someone with a shoulder and a tucked arm. Even if George's actions were taken to have caused enough of a drop in height, it shouldn't matter because it's an illegal action to begin with.

It needs to be quite something to coax me out of lurking these days, but that is an awful awful decision. It makes me angry as a fan of the game and as a father of a son who plays and I would like to be protected from that sort of reckless dangerous act. Completely agree with that bringing the game into disrepute.

And it's bloody depressing that Onlyfans Fapper (can we do that with captain as well as coach?) is going to be reinstalled rather than letting anyone else play 10 with a decent centre pairing.

Judging by the decision they must have been hash brownies as opposed to biscuits.

To further reinforce your correct point here is said framework.

Quelle surprise! Should’ve expected a totally daft decision like this.

I'm flitting about a bit but I think I saw on Twitter that World Rugby have 48 hours to overturn the overturning if they wish. This could get very smelly very quickly.

That is a total shocker. Hopefully the poor PR forces WR to appeal the verdict.

I think they have to appeal even if just to draw a clear line for officials leading into the tightest World Cup in recent editions.

So we literally just don't care about head injuries anymore? Is that the stance? What the fuck was the last 3 years of tweaking regulations even about if we've ended up back here?
