So Abi has confirmed that:
Four regions to continue
Equal funding
Closing a region would not see any benefits for 2 years or so.
The debt would be shared across three not four entities which would reduce the benefits.
She equates the funding level to that of the Scottish sides, although other reports suggest they are closer to £8m rather than £6.5m. That’s still short of Irish and French teams.

I think as a matter of priority is the need to get the DoR on board. If they can’t appoint the permanent coach then offer Sherratt the opportunity to take the team to Japan for the summer tour.

He understands continuity of selection and seems to have a good rapport with the players and coaching staff.

Japan will offer some respite from the ‘goldfish bowl’ and the possibility of breaking our duck.

Things can only get better - can’t they?

Yeah, I hope so. But that's like I still can't believe Italy can beat us. My emotions haven't caught up with reality. Truth is, we could fall further.

However, it should be easy to run a less shambolic coaching team than Gatland, if there's any truth in this:

Yeah, I’d prefer that they get the recruitment right and if the successful candidate has a notice period, then perhaps Sherratt or Mark Jones could take the tour on a temporary basis.
