If by carrot you mean bunging Saints 100k+ per annum, yes 😂😂

On a serious note, the player development pathways can’t come soon enough.

Yet another example of Bedford Town picking on its poorer neighbours. The local infrastructure master plan may be labelled the Oxford Cambridge Arc but we all know that’s levelling up spin and its real name in the corridors of power is the Bedford Crescent.

The Times reckon M. Smith will be fit for Ireland and Mitchell probably fit for France.

Going to Sarries though as the rumours are he wants to live in London. So he'll probably spend at least one season sat behind Daly and Lozowski.

Re the Earl at 12 scandal. According to someone on The Ruck podcast - I can’t remember who but it might’ve been Alex Lowe - Richard Hill wanted to move Earl to centre during his time in the Sarries academy. What might’ve been.

England with an 8 at 8 whilst still trying to solve the 12 issue.

Good call, to my mind. This late in the tournament, he's going to be holding a tackle bag rather than competing for a spot in the XXIII, and it's good experience for him to come in, especially when it comes to learning about the defence and patterns. I think he will be going on the tour in the summer, so any extra time for him to learn things is valuable.

A call up just to train for a week is not to be sneezed at.
I'm sure Silly Bollocks will put him through the mill in training.

Gets him settled into the international camp, the coaches can get a first eye view on what he's like at training and give him some work ons. He looks likely to be a future international so not a bad call.

Oh gods - is that going to be Maggie Alphonsi's next advert material?
Or worse - Habana's!

Ha! At least we’ll know who Habana is talking about if it is.

When does a statistic transcend to being an “insight”?

I'd always assumed it was a deep and insightful analysis of Matt Banahan - whom absolutely nobody could have been aware of being slow to turn without Sage's help

I'm often told utterly irrelevant things by patients, when trying to nail the details of their case. "Good to know" has become a bit of a catch-phrase, followed by moving on, rather than writing anything down.
ETA: when talking to a medical professional - far better to give us too much information than too little. The layman isn't supposed to know how relevant or not that nugget of information might be.

Torygraph running an article on players in danger of breaching the 30-full-games limit for minutes played this season - Itoje is currently on the equivalent of 23.5 games. If we're assuming we want him to play both NZ tests (but aren't as bothered by him playing the Japan game), that leaves him 4.5 games left in the season. There are a minimum of 7 Sarries games left, more likely 8-9, and a possible 12 (less likely) - there is practically no chance that he doesn't go over.

Granted, this is a one-off with the RWC, but he is absolutely owed a rest or else he's going to get badly injured. Saracens should seriously consider giving him the next two weeks off before the Bordeaux game.
