It would also be a great chance to secure Fin Smith for England as Scotland are bound to be sniffing around.
Could load the bench with Spencer, Farrell, Lawrence as well for both impact and security.

. Will he favour a kicking game at intl level, given the players he now has available? Always a conundrum for coaches- coach the game you are comfortable, or develop the best game plan (s) for what you have available.....

I'd disagree with you on the strong basics - his passing often goes to pot and his decision-making is iffy. Like Ben Youngs, but without the 100 caps of experience and nous.

Nah, Robson was Danny Care with less skill. Spencer is more like Wigglesworth.

Both Robson and Spencer struggle with passing, decision making and not many caps....was the point. And Spencer is much more of a breaking runner than Wiggy, and frankly not as good a kicker.

I wouldn't have ever said it was a particularly strong suit. Ben Spencer has had a lot of time to demonstrate he's not quite up to it- 200+ prem appearances.
But anyway, you've strayed off the the original point- neither Robson nor Spencer were quite good enough to get picked a lot at intl level...and both had similar weaknesses to their games.

Cole makes sense on his current form. The question there being how much of his current form is down to his body not having to do international rugby? And how long can he keep up his current level with that additional demand.
If the answers are not that much, and at least until after the world Cup, then that's a fantastic bit if extra experience to bring in.

I would've said just having Cole in camp added value - can't believe there's nothing he could teach the youngsters.

Cole is the temporary fix, particularly whilst Stuart is injured. He should also help set the tone at training. His work rate has hit ridiculous levels for a tighthead in the last couple of seasons, no one is going to want to be the guy being out worked by the 35 year old tighthead.

and that was the old Dan Cole before his new fitness regime as well. Hughes the man who said he wanted to represent England because of the match fees not wanting to put the effort in. Who'd have thunk it.

I don't know but the Vunipolas have been on the Gregg's fitness regime for a while now.
