No contest.

The sun shall now commence performing miracles, healing the sick, multiplying the crops, walking on water, with its crown of thorns - or rays . . . 8-)

But first we've got 3 months of winter to get through :?

Well, my mother has just changed the plans - she was going to go to her own church on Sunday (it's alway been important that it's her own church); swing by us, so that I can do the driving down to my brother's for Christmas.
She's just decided that she'll be with us by lunchtime tomorrow - so that's 3 meals we suddenly have to cater for...

Oh, and she's announced at the same time that she's giving veganism a try.

My brother's laughter was cut short when I told him that part.

Peace and goodwill are on hold, at least until I've finished work at 8.00 and seen what's left in the shops.

Hah ! H.N.Y. 1 and all.
Indeed..last year was a bit mad - we've got a super-wolf-moon as well to set us off, hopefully that's a portent of
great things and few howlers, especially on the field of play. :)

I managed to break a tooth while eating chocolate. Sign of my age! Not sure if that's a bad omen for the year to come, given it actually happened before midnight - though i'll certainly be paying the dental bills this year

Sounds like a scene from The Battle of Britain. Not that I've ever seen it. I'm just guessing they said something like that - just before being shot down in flames somewhere over the North Sea . . .

Well, maybe a good omen for 2018, but I walked into the dentist today wondering if I'd even be able to get an appointment - and came away two hours later with a totally rebuilt set of front teeth. & it cost me 400 lira. That's about a hundred dollars! No appointment, no wait and most of the work is done already. That's because I have residency here and can go to the community medical centre which is run by traditional Muslims. The only problem is, the china-work was mostly applied to one side, so I now have a half white, half grimy yellowy smile. :D
