Team for France

After the excitement of a win on Friday... the reality of a trip to Paris is in front as a last opportunity to put some credibility to the 6N for Wales.

I can't really see Howley changing anyone with the possible exception of Charteris and Falateu. That said he may just do it to confuse us.

The French looked in good form against Italy with some good play...but it was mostly after 60 minutes.

Were there any injury concerns post Ireland?

I don't think we have any new injuries. I'm hoping that a few fringe players like Sam Davies and stef Evans get an opportunity. But I can't see it. Howley will know that a win would take us into third place, possibly second if England and Italy win whilst a number of our players will want to lay down markers for the Lions.

IMO, the need to develop depth is more important but I'd be surprised if Howley makes those changes

Certainly France aren't the team of old to be feared. They have some big forwards and fast backs but if our defence is on the button like the Irish game then we can contain them.

Picamoles gives them a hell of go-forward but if our back row can snuff him out then we have the chance of another win in the Paris spring sunshine.

Let's hope the Irish are really hurting after Friday and they play smarter than the Jocks who were totally out-muscled yesterday.

Because the English press is smug and biased enough as it is without adding back to back grand slams to the mix. Do you always need things spelling out to you?

Cliche are always good, the press are going to be positive about the match yesterday, bearing in mind the luke warm/playing in patches in the previous matches by England and the score over Scotland in the context they beat Ireland and the stuffing in the 2nd half Wales got in their match by Scotland.

Take that big chip off your shoulder and mix it with the sour grapes, it may make it taste better :D

Ps, yes the English press is biased, its English ... qed.

The fact that Wales/Welsh over rate their players and sneer at everyone else's, whilst blaming the coaching staff every time means when it goes wrong... you come across as the worlds worst losers at rugby bar the Australians

Do you literally just roam the Welsh board trying to wind people up?

No chip on my shoulder at all. I said English press, not fans. No sour grapes either, England deserved their wins in this tournament, all of them.

Wow, just wow. Have you looked at my posts? No over rating of players here, quite the opposite. We had a good win Friday, and our players played well for the first time in years. Doesn't make them best in the world, so where are you getting that from, cos it's certainly not me.

Your opening sentence seems to agree with my original point about English press, so make your fucking mind up.

Considering the time lapse between posts. Stupidity is genetic in your case then. Are you able to count up to twenty without taking your socks off?

martin turned the website into a pro-Welsh ..... anti anything towards Welsh or Welsh posters no matter what the circumstances, PC bullshit place, so one sided that it became joke in itself and after looking in again after a few years this managed to kill it. Plenty of Welsh wums (hwntw for example) were given a free run, others (non Taffy) were not

The real irony being, the only active board is the English one.

Can't you see that the place is dead because of dick heads like you not in spite of it? You called me thick earlier (no reason to) but you are coming across as mental. It's a forum not a way of life. Get a grip.

Nighty, wind your neck in. If you wish to discuss Welsh rugby then carry in, but this is just blatant wumming and it won't be tolerated.

Anyone else inclined to think about dropping Halfpenny and Biggar to the bench for France? Move Sanjay to FB, Stef Evans and George on the wings and Sam Davies at 10. Sam's kicking is fine. Use Biggar, Doc and Halfpenny as closers if we're leading in the last 20. A few months before the summer tours of Halfpenny and Biggar sitting around wondering if they'll get their places back could give them both the boot up the arse they both need, and if they don't use it as motivation to fight then they don't deserve the shirt.

Completely agree. I don't think it will happen but it should. Sam deserves an opportunity, ditto Evans. Frankly this is a game where the result isn't that important in the grand scheme of things and if senior players haven't done enough to impress the lions coaches by now then tough. We need to,develop players and giving Sam a start on the summer tour Ina depleted team teaches us nothing.

Talking about dropping inexperienced fly halfs into depleted teams, whats going on with Patchel?
