Beirne to Munner

Perhaps not unsurprisingly Beirne is off to Munner at the end of the season. Bastards.
Bastards indeed, I can't help thinking he's too small for an International second row and the Irish have depth in the backrow so I don't think he'll be on the International scene any time soon.bruce wrote:Perhaps not unsurprisingly Beirne is off to Munner at the end of the season. Bastards.
He's the same height as AWJ but 10KG lighter which is quite a difference, I'd pick him for Ireland instead of O'Mahony at 6 on current form, I don't think he'll play in the second row but I may be wrong.PoolerSaint wrote:I don't get the too small for test rugby stuff.
He's plenty big enough, similar size to AWJ, if I was Ireland I'd pick him now. Not very often do you have a lock forward able to influence games as much as this guy.
Biggest issue for me is how the Scarlets replace him. They offered him a very good contact so the money is there for a good replacement. Or do they try to unearth another player like him, young with a point to prove. There are 3 or 4 young Welsh qualified locks at English clubs who could do a job.

I know what you mean but he more than makes up that 10kgs in attitude.Numbers wrote:He's the same height as AWJ but 10KG lighter which is quite a difference, I'd pick him for Ireland instead of O'Mahony at 6 on current form, I don't think he'll play in the second row but I may be wrong.PoolerSaint wrote:I don't get the too small for test rugby stuff.

That wouldn’t be a bad idea for both parties.bruce wrote:Looks like Scarlets are sniffing around Seb Davies as a replacement.
You could not blame the lad for wanting to have a crack at playing for Ireland, which he will not as long as he plays in Wales. But I do hate this business of announcing a player's move a full season before it actually takes place. For many reasons, I don't think transfers should be agreed that far in advance.bruce wrote:Perhaps not unsurprisingly Beirne is off to Munner at the end of the season. Bastards.

I think he meant Scarlets and Davies, rather than Cardiff.Tre wrote:like fuckSandydragon wrote:That wouldn’t be a bad idea for both parties.bruce wrote:Looks like Scarlets are sniffing around Seb Davies as a replacement.
Well he resigned, so good news. Not an NDC though? I bet they're only offering NDCs for players going to the Dragons.bruce wrote:I think he meant Scarlets and Davies, rather than Cardiff.Tre wrote:like fuckSandydragon wrote: That wouldn’t be a bad idea for both parties.
