Champions Cup Outlook

We can discount Quins, Saints and Tigers who arent going to progress. Between them they have managed 1 win.

Bath top their pool with 13 pts. They have Benetton away and Scarlets at home. They have a very good chance of going though.

Now things start to look a touch hazy.

Saracens are on 11 pts. They have O's away and Saints at home. 2 big wins might see them through.

Wasps are on 10 pts. They have Ulster at home and Quins away. 2 big wins might see them through.

Exeter are on 9 pts. They have Montpelier at home and away to Glasgow. Even with two 5 point wins its going to take a miraculous set of results to see them go any further.

Think Leinster, Clermont, Munster and LaRochelle look well set to qualify.

If Sarries get some of their big players back they’ll go to Ospreys and win, then smash Saints at Allianz Park for a 5 pointer. 20 points will get them through as a best runner up. Maybe a quarter against La Rochelle or Munster.

Pool 1: Wasps need to get 5 points from then Ulster H game, if they can do that, then they'll come second in their group, and have a shot at best runner up.

Pool 2: Saracens need much the same away at Ospreys, but they could afford to just get the win without a TBP, the bonus would put them as favourites to get a best runner up

Pool 3: Exeter need a miracle to progress

Pool 5: Bath are the only English team who have qualification in their own hands, but are far from nailed on. At least we've got our tougher opponentsc coming to us, and are away to the easier, it'd be nice if we had Scarlets for the final week though, but that's not to be.
