The Injuries are piling up

Looks like George North will be out injured for another 4 weeks so that could cancel him out of the start of the six nations to add to the recent news of Amos and Lydiate.
Whilst I am dissapointed that he is out it may force the hand of the selectors to continue with Evans on the wing which would not be a bad outcome . The only issue for me is that they don't revert to Cuthbert and possibly look at Lane .
The back row cupboard will again be tested without Warburton and Falateau and Moriarty has not started back as yet. ..but it may give James Davies a belated chance.
Anyone know of how Griffiths is progressing at gettingreat back with the Dragons?

Apparently the Premierships top try scorer is Welsh. Josh Adams, personally not seen him play but if he has scored most tries whilst playing for a team towards the bottom of the league, then must at least be worth a look.

Feck forgot about Gatlands law.

Doesn't matter with Adams they can still select him if they wanted. He'd just have to move back to Wales when his current deal runs out if he wanted to continue his Welsh career.

You'd have to say the back three on form would be -
15. Dan Evans
14. Liam Williams
11. Josh Adams/Steff Evans

But will end up being Halfpenny, Williams and Cuthbert.

1 out of 3 isn't bad for Gatland.

Halfpenny Steff Evans and Williams ... will be the most probable starting set if there has to be a choice I would still prefer to see Dan Evans then Lane involved rather than Adams.

WO article was a typical non event that was saying that it was a chance for players to make a statement which is true about most matches and most players. Cuthbert's statement should be leave me alone till I find my form ..which I dropped somewhere at some point a while ago.

Genuine question: Does Halfpenny warrant selection at the moment? The last time I saw him at the test level, he was quite pedestrian.

Ineffective in attack is a fair summation of where Halfpenny is at present . He does not step the opposition or burn them with pace or even get the extra few meters after the tackle. What he used to give was superb positional play in defence especially against the kick...but that is less effective than before.

Both Liam Williams and Dan Evans give these attacking options very effectively and both have a habit of supporting the ball carrier when a line break is made...but if Howler is selecting the backs then he will probably go as I said Halfpenny at full back .

That said with the Scarlets ,Halfpenny has shown or probably been given more licence to attack under Pivac and Stephen Jones and you can see the shell starting to be broken...it should give him an opportunity to see if he can rekindle his attacking sharpness but it is only a maybe.

Personally I would prefer to see Dan Evans Liam Williams and Steff Evans as the back three as that may give the opposition something differant to think about.

I don't want to speak harshly of Lane but he's to raw for International rugby currently, he 's played twice for the Blues (in one of the games he showed his kicking was poo with a diabloical kick), he has the attributes to be a test player but is generally a 13 (only playing on the wing due to the Blues's injuries) so that would maybe explain why his kicking was poor.

Cuthbert was excellent for the Blues yesterday so fairplay to him.

Yes ....it is something to improve and he needs to develop...I just am concerned that whilst Adams is also a potential I still would prefer Lane to be as part of the training sqaud in preference to Adams.

Whilst Adams has been scoring tries he was not impressive when the coaches came a calling...but I don't have any major problem with him either. We need to see if these guys can take the next step and involving them in the sqaud is maybe the positive move needed.

Lane is showing promise, but he needs time to develop without that pressure. Give him a season or two and he could be very tidy.

So Biggar may be out and Preistland will not be taking his place so that could force a change at10 . Another worry is that Liam Williams had to withdraw from Saracens match with a differant issue from the most recent one so that would be a blow .

Moriarty looked short of game time in his comeback match against Pau but seemed to get throughost it.

Positives are that North got some game time and that Scarlets are in fine form and their players will be full of confidence.

Webb looked to be struggling in the Os game as well with a knee issue, strapped up anyway.

Not wishing any injury on Biggar, but perhaps an opportunity. This 6N is starting to feel like a development competition (and not just for us).

Some good news in that Tyler Morgan starts for the Dragons in the Anglo Welsh Cup this weekend, hopefully he can feature at some point in the tournament as he's a genuine 13.
