well all the left footers have given up the Grand Slam for Lent

I gave up grand slams for lent the last 7 years and frankly life just didn't get any rosier. This year I have given up on Irish Language Acts and it seems to be working out much better.

I have just been reading the match reports in the London Times and am quite frankly deflated after Ireland's dismal performance yesterday. How we would have the temerity to win a game on the back of the scraps allowed us by the utterly dominant Scots is beyond comprehension.

Nevertheless, looking at the table and the remaining fixtures there is so much to play for next weekend. If, as expected, Wales come away from Rome with 5 match points today, then a Scotland win in Rome next weekend, a Welsh win in Cardiff and another fraudulent Irish win against patently dominant and more deserving opposition will see the Pro14 sitting 1-2-3 on the table.

I once had an immoral victory. Shagged a fat lass and she told her pal I had kept going half the night (Combination of Guinness and finding little remotely climactic about the whole sordid performance). Two weeks later her pal, far prettier it must be said, came looking for a bit of the same.

A much briefer encounter it has to be said. Needless to say, the myth of my bedroom stamina came to a somewhat premature end!

This GS was very different from 2009 for me. 2009 we were the best of a pretty shitty bunch. This time we controlled all but about 20 minutes in total of our matches and were mainly excellent. Something that was really striking watching the game live at Twickenham (yeah that's right) was how it we realigned every phase compared to the English and how much better our ball presentation was. Little things but really significant to the shape of the game and the ability to do anything useful.
