Big game this. A win for either side will go a long way to ensuring a top 6 place. Lose and life gets quite tricky.
Newcastle Falcons: Hammersley; Goneva, Harris, JP Socino, Sinoti; Hodgson, Young; Lockwood, Lawson, S. Wilson, Green, Witty, Welch (capt), Graham, Hogg.
Replacements: S Socino, Vickers, Davison, Olmstead, Burrows, Takulua, Mermoz, Tait.
Sale Sharks: McGuigan; Yarde, James, James, Odogwu; MacGinty, De Klerk; Harrison, Webber, John, Evans, Ostrikov, Ross (capt), B. Curry, Strauss.
Replacements: Jones, Tarus, Aulika, Beaumont, Ioane, T. Curry, Cliff, Redpath.

I’m fairly confident with the pack we’re putting out, but McGuigan at FB and Odogwu on the wings could expose us if the Budgies decide to put some high balls in there. Luke James has looked good on his outings so far, but is hardly battle hardened so expect Newcastle to target us there as well.
Could be a really good game looking at the line ups though

Perhaps - Sinoti or Goneva are two very dangerous wingers but I wouldn’t have said they were particularly well known for their kick-chase game.
This one could go either way but I think it might be a fairly ugly, low-scoring game. If that is indeed the case, I’d back Newcastle to see out a home win with a losing BP for Sale. I can see something like a 13-10.

The game in Manchester was awful as the Ref just abandoned offside and both sides pretty much nullified each other by stifling space.
Sale appear to have forgotten how to tackle.

Well this is making the first 20 last week look like a competent display.

Last week Wasps actually played a bit of rugby, and went around us. Tonight we've just dropped off tackle after tackle and let them walk through us.

That's pretty sharp by Curry to keep going and score.

If Sale pull this off twice on the spin, it might be time to chuck a fiver on them winning the whole thing as the gods are smiling on them.

New strategy? Let the opposition score lots on the first 20 so they turn off?

It looks like a full house there tonight. I know they’ve been selling more tickets than usual this season but I wonder how many in there are newbies from the St James Park match.

That's absolutely terrible stuff from Evans. Butchered that almost as badly as Turner and Armand last weekend.
