Well I see the Dragons have announced the signing of two RGC players today, I can't help but feel a fair few of these Dragons signings are not good enough to take the Dragons forward.

Good signings: Moriarty, Jarvis, Dafydd Howells

Ok signings: Hibbard, Bevington, Rhodri Williams, Jordan Williams, Josh Lewis (could be good), Huw Taylor

Not of PRO14 standard signings: Botica, Loots, Rhodri Davies

You'd think that Hibbard would be blocking the progression of Elliot Dee so although he is still a very decent player I think he'll be riding pine whilst Dee is fit, I can't help thinking they could have done with another prop instead. Perhaps they're targeting winning more of the International window fixtures?

I think depth wise they've improved a fair bit with the new signings.
Ironically the one major marquee player they've signed Ross Moriarty is the one who's likely to play least given his international commitments & back problems.
Hibbard will be a solid backup for Dee & a good impact option off the bench.
This new Samoan lock is apparently highly rated but is totally untested. Could be good could be awful?
The props Jarvis & Bevington will help but I wouldn't say they're a significant step up from Leon Brown & Brok Harris.
Rhodri Williams is good at scrumhalf but so was the criminally underused Sarel Pretorius.
Are these two from RGC any better than Angus O'Brian or Sam Beard? No, I'd say.
I like Huw Taylor, he was impressive for England U20's but is very raw & untested.
Little underwhelming so far for me but I guess we won't know for sure until September.

I think scrummaging wise the two incumbents are stronger, the good thing for the Dragons is Moriarty is not on a NDC so he won't be limited to a set amount of games.
