Honestly, it's been a long time since I've been looking forward to a football match so much. But here we are. I hope it's a good game and I hope Sergio Ramos ends it crying.

Liverpool worked extremely hard but never really threatened, second best on the night

The keeper was just a sad joke unfortunately

Bales first goal was outstanding, breathtaking finish

Yep. It was quite instructive that not a single Liverpool player went to console Karius after the final whistle. It’s the sort of performance that can kill a career. I think a move away would be best for both the player and the club.

It’s the first football match I’ve watched since England v Iceland, which I only watched as my son wanted to, and I was quickly reminded why I stopped watching football. I haven’t seen that much rolling around on the floor and that much crying since my youngest left nursery.

Is Ramos likely to face a ban? Looks like that Egyptian fellow might miss the World Cup...

Very unfortunate for salah but there was nothing in the challenge. He was holding him back but it wasn't reckless.

Yeah, right. There was intent. He knew exactly what he was doing.

It was a foul in that he held him back but it wasn't a reckless challenge. He just fell really awkwardly from it.

Anyway, no doubt about Real's dominance. That's why they're Kings of Europe! 13 titles, which is almost twice as many as their nearest rival - AC Milan. 8-)

Agree with Stom, once Ramos had Salah's arm locked, he only had one thing in mind.

Cynical and dirty.

Gotta feel for Karius, but he does seem to make a few mistakes.

Bale is just an outstanding player.

The "thing he had in his mind" was to hold him back to slow him up. It's an incredibly common type of foul. There is no way in a million years he could have predicted he would have fell awkwardly and dislocated his shoulder. It was even the other arm to the one he injured.

If you foul someone you can't claim afterward that you never intended the consequences to be as serious as they are. Ramos clearly dragged Salah down and latest reports suggest the injury may keep the Egyptian out of the World Cup. There needs to be some accountability. & I don't personally have any sympathy for Karius. He just had a couple of blond moments in the biggest game of his life.

No way. You could see it in his eyes...he wanted to hurt him. He had the look of a mad man!

If it hadn't of been that 'tackle', I think Ramos would've shived him in the tunnel at half time.

Anyway, great game, great team! I don't get into club football much at all but I used to make a point of watching Barca and Real when I was in Spain, especially los clasicos. But the dodgy refereeing decisions invariably went Real's way.

Incidentally, I've only ever been to one club soccer match in my entire two decades in Europe - Alaves (Basque capital) v Real Madrid. It was a 0-0 draw. Figo & Roberto Carlos were in the Madrid lineup but they rested a few of their other stars that day.

Yet Bale did, it just goes to show you what most footballers are like really - wankers.

The Egyptian guy is recovering well anyway; should be able to make it to the WC. That's good news :)

It seems Karius may have been concussed after Ramos’ elbow.......

The thing is, Sergio is an utter cwnt. Yet he is always the one who has the biggest impact on finals. He's definitely a big game player, even if that big game involved injuring two of the opposition players...

He's probably the most cynical, effective player in this era of football.
