So I always thought my ancestry was solid English/Cornish/Scots. Now I find out that my father’s maternal grandmother was descended from some chancer who snuck in from County Cavan in 1869 and his wife who was shipped out from Sligo in 1881.
This might cause me to reassess the lower reaches of my Who To Support Against Whom Test Match Matrix.

Cavan and Sligo - I didn't think we let any one out of either of them.
Cavan is famous for being the only county in Ireland which has never produced anyone famous, though Barry McGuigan was born next door in Clones.
Lots of famous Yeats's, film directors and Westlife come from Sligo but none of them would ever have admitted it. Most people in Ireland think that Sligo is somewhere in Iceland.

19th C Irish immigrants to NZ didn’t tend to be “let out.” They generally “got out” just ahead of being shipped to Australia.

Think yerself lucky.
Cobh was Queenstown when Liz's da's ma's gran and granda were being transported; no doubt for filching the very spuds whose ancestors go into Tayto cheese n onion today.

We'd have to check the constitution, but I'm sure its worse than divorce or abortion.

Checking your constitution does that involve assessing how bad the first shit of the day is the morning after the all dayer before?

You could ask the EU for a backstop.

The Yakger? Not one single millimetre of video footage exists, yet can anyone deny that it is definitively the most dangerous animal that ever walked the planet.
